Indeed this is one way to quell the Asian Carp who managed to glide through whatever agility course was propped up for them, that is if they got around to it with a little more effort than jawboning the people's plight. That would be rather unusual, a surprise side benefit from anthropogenic disaster as seen in the beady eyes of the perps or in the dunkin doughnut eyes of the dazed and glazed. Although, if the Carp came through and there had been no "spill' shortly thereafter, in time the Carp would have eventually settled down to some quiet grounds and done their thing along with all the other lake life schools and everything would be okay. Nature can handle anything, I have yet to see a situation that it cannot. It is only our meddling that makes something a disaster, as I said in an earlier post. Nature does what it does. For example, Nature is fully capable of performing a cleaner, kinder, quicker job at reining in overpopulation - without chemicals, dispersants, never ending wars of conquest, undersea nukes, targeted executions and the like.
The Carp however, would have only been okay until they were met by the World's Dirtiest Jobs, the Trawlers which would have braved the distance from the icy Bering Straits contracted by Big Seafood - we'll call them Big Aqua. Suddenly, the barren seafood counter would be packed with Carp Cakes, Carp filled Crab, Carp fillet, Carp sausage and patties, shrinkwrapped packages with colorful Oriental graphics would appear in the meats' department freezers, two for one, Carp Sushi, fake lobster made from processed Carp, imitation crab Carp, Carp tacos, Marie Callendar Carp with friend rice and dim sum. Perhaps we've been spared or ... perhaps Carp thrives on Corexit. This remains to be seen, if we're still around to see it. We might catch it on the Discovery Channel weeknights in the mess hall.
I think we will be around to see it as general punishment. As noxious as the situation appears at this time, what could be worse? Being there, unable to get out, being unable to act without extending the tortures and violence, the threats and the incessant disparities and indignities as far into the future as you go. Perhaps it is set up that way, that wherever there are anthropogenic disasters a certain amount of the population is eliminated and the rest are survivors. Those who survive think themselves fortunate, but allowing you the freedom of good fortune is not on the certified and notarized Survivors to-do List. Rather, their lives will be lived out cleaning up the disasters, big and small, in the process being blown this way or that, everyday is the same as the day before and the next. The little people as NWO prisoners, in corporate hazmat outfits with rubber boots and football jackets in the winters. All of it bearing the logo of whomever is getting the magnificent tax break calling you into service. Maybe you will be assigned a location with some diversity so that your freelancing provides some highlights, but I think not. If you are assigned beach duty, it stays beach duty because your prison doesn't finance transfers to the Manhattan Dump or the Yucca Mountain work tent honeywagons.
Okay, let's get it on. Its been a grim week. The stars must be out of favor with me lately, I don't know how its gone for you, you are free to articulate it in a comment, but the reality of blowing the rockbuggy's engine has made itself known. Sometimes it appears I go through collapse earlier than what we generally speak of when we speak of collapse. Its always been that way. I speak from experience. This is absolutely not what was intended by the parents, my ancestors, and not what we intend for our offspring. Whatever we have to go through is unique not only to our zeitgeist, but more realistically to ourselves. Knowing this makes it difficult to be consoled because what is consolation if it is not truth? The truth needs no consolation. But, empathy works. Awareness works. The beauty in awareness and truth is the lesson part. Ah, yes, there is a lesson here, it feels good when it is realized, very good.
I am aware of the Wikileaks praises, denouncings, huffings and puffings taking place. We who know everything while knowing nothing can tell you it will have no impact on the big picture despite the big picture people squawking and justifying and threatening the leakers-in-hiding. It would be nice if someone could raise pen to paper and say, Look, let's make some amends here. But that opportunity came round recently through the worst disaster in American history and no amends were made, not even a pipsqueak, not even a shuck and jive worth the time a shuck and jive takes. Do you honestly think the snakes are going to shed their skins now? Its a little late for molting. We're in for it but good now. Entire generations of humans have come to age in the middle of this nonsense never having known what the hippies were all about, never having and never will hear of the Great Jack Kerouac or even Kurt Vonnegut. The Beatles? Didn't they do the Vegas show for Cirque De Soliel? Ain't it sad they never heard of Django Reinhardt or Slim Harpo? Only sad if you don't know, what they don't know is sad because they cannot know the real thing. If they are exceptionally curious and dedicated, they can run a web search and come up with something digitized on their cell provided they purchased the correct ap for the correct version modified for legal purposes.
Surely one day we will wake up and find this will all have been a long, drawn out dream in which it appears that we were awake, but we were not.
- MY friend, the things that do attain
- The happy life be these, I find:
- The riches left, not got with pain;
- The fruitful ground; the quiet mind;
- The equal friend; no grudge; no strife;
- No charge of rule, nor governance;
- Without disease, the healthy life;
- The household of continuance;
- The mean diet, no dainty fare;
- Wisdom joined with simpleness;
- The night discharged of all care,
- Where wine the wit may not oppress:
- The faithful wife, without debate;
- Such sleeps as may beguile the night;
- Content thyself with thine estate,
- Neither wish death, nor fear his might.

Beautiful words and beautiful paint-magic. Shapes, colors, and thoughtful prose to alter our inner landscapes in a resonant and healing way.
With you in that pre-collapse collapse mode.
Thank you!
>onelove<
You being with me in pre-collapse means you have some heavy stories and seen some hard, hard times where any agreement or relief was out of the question. Check.
Thanks for speaking up Bho. Regards to handsome Senor Gustavo.
Seems like a good time, Nina, to post one of my favorite quotes:
"Where there is ruin, there is hope for treasures." (Rumi)
Oh, I like that one very much, Charles. Thank you.
Just trying to get over the trauma of imagining all that carp glop. If we are lucky, we'll have a pole shift, EMP from the Sun, an asteroid hit or some other blessed event that will put an end to the carp and corporate gulag scenario.
Yeah, the kids are like the slow-warming frogs who have no idea they are being boiled. No idea of what freedom and unstructured time is. I remember my parents issuing us salt shakers to "put salt on a robin's tail" and shovels "to dig to China" in June when school got out. That ended their involvement with us until Fall other than putting good meals on the table for us to eat every day. We were free to play, explore, imagine, organize games of Kick the Can, "Army," act out plays, ride bikes till we dropped - all free. No cell phones, no daycare, no Boy and Girls Clubs, no computer games. Mickey Mouse Club on TV, catching fireflies at night.
Freedom. Never figured it could be lost the way it has. Like the fresh air and the clean water... all the natural blessings FUBARED.
Heartbreaking.
Maybe a trip up our way would be a nice little break? Do you have a car that will make the trip? We don't call it "Murphy's Free Acre" for nothing, ya know, and the gate's always open for you and yours.
Here's my cheerful poem submission:
"Rise like Lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number-
Shake your chains to earth like
dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you
Ye are many-they are few."

Don't worry about the carp thing, Bama is going to fix it! See that is what government does, they solve all your problems.
If the gulf and the carp were banks they would have been bailed out and "fixed" the day after.
This carp thing just sort of burst out unplanned. You know how that works when you sit down to post, lights go on. China has no need to war with us for all the things we do and have done, they can just flood us with people, or carp.
Meanwhile, I won't have any means to get somewhere for a while and you know Free, I really want to visit. Charles and Pangolin as well. Somehow, sometime, we'll pull it off and have a campfire. I thank you for your empathetic comment and memories of freedom. It has come to this at last, as we all subconsciously knew it would, freedom is a memory.
PS Free, wonderful submission. These works tell us we've been here before and the situations we experience would be very similar without technological progress. Thanks.
Mick, that is amazing. I read earlier this month the Carp had broken through the barriers. It appears the only reason the government is interested at all is because of our leader's ties to the midwest, obviously someone has yanked his chain. Ah, but this is just one more example of lawmaking where laws cannot possibly have any effect. What're they gonna do, cuff their fins and taser em? Throw them in jail? Issue citations? Nope. SPILL & SPRAY is the only way in the land of the stupids desperate to justify their pensions. Surely Pelosi and Harry Reid will block the Act if for nothing else, for argument's sake. Actually, DHS will get involved and send huge amounts of hard-wrung dollars to Big Aqua.
Rarely do we have the chance to watch such bandwidth wasting cartoons unfold. How can they possibly follow this act? Carp nuking? Geeze ...

who flutter peace
of wandering star
who gathered breeze
in ancient rising
of lightning bird
with symbol lines
on sprinkled words
rising wake
the climbing high
of inner truths
where shining fly
from risen sun
oh sacred walker
who medicine bring
who found the source of
ever living
living all
sacred earth
the ancient school.

Nina there is always the possibility that Monsanto could genetically engineer a carp that produces it's own herbicide that leads to sterility in the second generation only after Americans have gorged themselves long enough to realize they too are sterile and producing offspring with three eyes.
After a period of 19 months they will call in BP who will contact their Canadian company which will in turn use the plasma nuclear blast device to stem the tide. Things will settle down after a 300 foot tidal wave hits all states in the great lake area.
I will post a small piece on Kahlil Gibran at some point. I am not all gloom and doom. Here is a small part of it.
Then said Almitra, "Speak to us of Love."
And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them.
And with a great voice he said:
When love beckons to you follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.
Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.
All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.
But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.
When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.
Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.
I'll be responding to these comments later when my head is on straight. These comments today might just be the best ever. Thank you Bho for breaking the ice. I'm not too articulate today in my moroseness, but everyone else appears to be thankfully tuned in.

For anyone having trouble getting to Survival Acres 911 post, previous to his new Native Culture post, I got there through Think or Be Eaten's blogroll. Another way is to go to his most recent post and click on today's date, 7/31, on the right side calendar. Otherwise, you get a page explaining his server is down. Uh huh.

http://www.examiner.com/x-10438-Human-Rights-Examiner~y2010m7d31-Exclusive-Censored-Gulf-news-Coughing-up-blood-Eyewitnesses-horror-stories
Coughing up blood is among horrors that eyewitnesses are reporting in south Louisiana where BP medics diagnose the sudden widespread, burning, itching skin, lesions and marks as "scabies" or staph and government health focus on "stress" and mental condition of millions of people poisoned with what scientists report is 11 times more lethal than crude oil toxins now in Gulf and coastal water and air. Americans are still encouraged to eat Gulf seafood.
On July 29 Global Justice Radio Blog Talk Radio program hosted by Rev. T.K. (Kathryn) O'Shannahan-Hyland and Vin Beazel called "Agent Orange Alert," listeners heard eyewitness and personal accounts of internal bleeding from orifices including coughing up blood and nose bleeds.
There was a call-in from a woman stranded and ill with rashes on her body. She was calling for help.
Callers dscribed leg-swelling among other effects since the oil explosion and lethal dispersant spraying operation.
Love from the crocs, turtles, sharks, black widows, scorpions and all things bright and beautiful.
Two blackbirds greeted us on the first return to my place. Will I invade or be their companion?
I know.
Later, turey.
tell you what nina,that rock in your picture looks perfect for sitting down and having a good think,was it a thinking rock you was painting their or just another rock...neil
turey,
lucky creatures to have you in their midst.
dug my head out of the sand long enough to look at the press this weekend. the clinton wedding was just beyond description. the feudal landlords feasting whilst their men keep the slaves silent.
which made me wonder about the 3 million dollars that the wedding cost.
now sure they have money, but for a one day event even for parasites it seems a lot.
do you recall after the haiti floods there were pics everywhere of clinton and the bush collecting for the people of this stricken country.
how does one call for an audit of that fund because i will stake my life on it not having reached its proclaimed destination.
the fucking brazeness of these people ----- ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, back to the sand.
Just had my comment lost to the ether.
Not meant to be seen, apparently, or something to that effect.
Z
Perhaps Zoner, that is because you are in the "zone"? Not a bad place to be at all.
Rasta, I think in Jamdown you would find constant companionship, if you have not already noticed.
I've seen a good bit of the interior, it reminds me of parts of California. The best parts. I knew some people raising Brahma Bulls and Hogs. For friends, not food.
Jah guide
It is a place I intentionally visit from time to time ..neil.. I'll put up a photo of it soon. The rock has patches of black moss growing, it feels more velvet than velvet. Some of the boulders have a chartreuse velvet, other have vermilion and still more have combinations of all three. At first I thought it was graffiti.
Vword: carimmul (how to say it while you eat it)
I found some of the nicest places are rocks,also sitting in tree's aswell helps to get a different perspective,also on the top of roofs very nice.in kashmir earlier this year their were so many,but cath not being a rock or tree sitter and being a one for pretty clothes and stuff would not visit these lovely rocks or trees that were scattered everywhere.
heard recently the indian army have been shooting the locals again, the kashmiris are so nice and friendly all they want to do is get on with their lives.mad mad world we live in nina,when charles is in charge of the cash,things will calm down I'm sure..neil

That would be my RX. I find some here.
Hello to All, and the Art Nina, our eyes rest easy at your house enjoying the view..it always fills my soul.
Nina, get another one up. This is Tex's sign off probably... Tx got diagnosed w/ pancreatic cancer 10 mos. ago but a la Bob M., but Tx refuses all the allopathic "remedies" of cut and burn, just use medical marijuana, sparingly...
You think you have it bad?
His children are scattered, in Germany, Switzerland, Latvia; they took Tx hint and got the hell out of Amerika while the getting was good. I'm glad that preaching worked! But for the funeral, probably nothing.
Zion Train is coming for us.... for us. Store up your wheat and water!
Like Xrist, I've given most everything to the poor and now await, with ba(i)ted breath, the end of this cycle.

I remember reading Mahatma Gandhi's words to the effect that we all need to cultivate a sense of the impermanence of our lives and be ready at a moments notice to focus on the eternal sacred when it is our time to die on this plane. So, when a woman unexpectedly stabbed him, his only last word was "Ram." I've always admired him for that.
One gift of a terminal illness is that one is allowed some time to get our mind around our demise and leave with a sense of grace, forgiveness, gratitude, and have a chance to say farewell and extend love to our family and friends. Thank you, Tex, for sharing this intense time with us. I hope when it is your time, you leave with a sense of adventure for what comes next.
My hope for us all is that when our physical eyes close for the last time, our awareness will shift. We will find ourselves once again in our whole and perfect spiritual body, eternal, and knowing that is this who we really have been all along... and happy to be Home once again.
Hi all. I'm feeling like a stranded sailer waiting patiently at the beach for tides and wind to bring me something I can USE to good effect.
So much of life's earnest efforts turn into sandcastles when the tide comes in. While sandcastles are pretty you can't live in them.
Keep writing, I'll keep reading.
