Experiments with dirt

On the day I held a fistful of dirt in my hand, everything changed. I think I'd been raking leaves and twigs, mingled with the occasional small feather and soda can when it came to me that the very crust of the entire Earth consisted of leftovers from all the past life it produced over millions of years. Weather and age turned this leftover matter into granules of dirt, the stuff we call soil. Simple, right? There's more. I looked around the place and could not find one, not one item that did not come from the Earth. Everything appeared to be derivatives of Nature, in other words, where was this fabulous industrial progress we've been conditioned to worship? You should try these exercises for yourself. I am not trying to be an authoritarian here, just an observer. Metals, plastic, chemicals, colors, kitchen tiles, the linoleum, our clothing, electricity, the bricks, books, soaps, the list is endless because the Earth is rooted in every item we use, the only exception is that which comes from our own creative inspirations, the Humanities. Maybe this is the only real progress we've ever made, adding our emotional input to the vast body of literature and art, music and dance, drama, all of which are achieved though our relations with and observances of one another.

If one is so conditioned as to never having noticed these easy things I've mentioned, they probably wouldn't figure out we are also living off the Earth, another layer of bark on top of her crust, another plant species traveling on our way inside the circle of birth, life, death, decomposition, nutrient, plant, seed, sprout, etc., at any given moment. What we become and how quickly we regenerate is up to Nature's temperment.

This is how we get stupid people in our midst: They've invested heavily in technologies that are progress-oriented by either believing they've invented something new or clerked for someone's outfit that believes they're doing something innovative. Lately its the Greenies. I really hate to say this, but between Rube Goldberg and Dr. Mengele, we're not exactly progressing, are we. When you consider Monsanto's experiments with Gaia and tally the amount of pharmaceuticals your health provider willingly dispenses to relieve "symptoms", you'd be kind of slow not to grasp the experimental nature of our amazing progress. Progress - which is has been redefined as solution. Solution - which has been redefined as you pay for it, your children and their great grandchildren pay for it. Sometimes, maybe all the time, we pay for it with our lives like lab animals. That time is getting closer and there is no progress, no solution, no paying our way to avoid the inevitable waiting on the horizon. How could there be as long as we're only experimenting with what we already have? Toying with the future, as if there was no tomorrow, as if we'd never run out?

Every media outlet wants us to know it will all go on forever, the plankton is THRIVING, there are plenty more Sardines where those came from and the life giving flood waters ALWAYS return to the Serengeti. They are still shoving shiny autos down our throats, promising to take them back if you lose your job (one year disclaimer) even though the states can't keep up the (experimental) infrastructure we were all conditioned to trust was inviolate. They are at this very hour arguing how Ms. Sotomayer might impact on Roe vs Wade ... They are bickering over waterboarding ... This will go on ad nauseum until fracking shows them the gas is depleted and the tar sands extract only granules of Earth, the same dirt I held in my hand and saw that small, soft, perfect feather they didn't see.

leading a double life

Jj left this comment earlier today:
We had the most remarkable days yesterday--perhaps one of the most complete days ever--continuing today--just wanted to share--
It has been the way life is supposed to be...
Which isn't far from the way I feel most of the time, too, despite all reasons to the contrary, considering the shadows emanating from the balloon edging ever closer cloaking all our precious fantasies in doubt: "Will we ever again ... ?" and "When will it go away ... ?"

It looks like there are at least two groups within the larger group of the sentient. There are hard core negativists whose words and lives are united in negative anguish. These are the protesters, the angry, the wild cards, well-intentioned, but potentially incendiary. There exists another group remarkably tolerant and in sympathy with the negativists, but leading double lives, one life given to balloon observance - gotta keep an eye on 'em - and the other life knowing the Universe is in charge, the balance is perfect just as always, fear is an ignorant construct as is money, as is the balloon, i.e.; the Illusion.

I won't go into details about the remainder of humanity, they are literally a world unto themselves. They have their own burdens. Of course, they are sentient beings.

It must be highly engrossing to fashion one's reality out of fables, blood and torture. That is not the behavior of sentient beings, is it. We don't really know if these non-sentient beings are of the human species. We may never know.

As our own corners of the globe melt away and the gross spread takes down the remainder, the sentient optimists as I will call them, will be the last ones standing. Its only natural, we haven't the investment in blame. Knowing the truth hasn't hardened us, truth always makes us stronger. Strength is powerful that way, its an unbeatable formula for survival. Truth is understanding what has happened to us and truth shows us what exists. We can be calm in our approach to making rational decisions in confidence these decisions are the right path for each one of us.

Lately, the discussion has centered on violent war crimes, crimes against humanity, depravity wrought by evil, TEOTWAWKI, corruption, the end of' Happy Motoring and dissolution of beliefs. Its hard to get away from and find the person you really are or were knowing someone else is suffering, but it is possible. I will tell you why.

Because the worst is yet to come, that's why. Your mission then, as a sentient optimist, is that of saint. Do you read me? Survivalist is another word for first responder. You must do this by example since belief and trust are worthless thanks to our leaders having sold us out from under. If you've been thinking you are going crazy with suspicions then add up the total picture you are receiving in your analysis of what it is exactly that is going on. The whole equals the sum of its parts. Why are we witness to this preponderance of stupid, obviously rash, ill-conceived and backfiring information spreading its death round the world, round the clock, year-round, year after year? Should you be caught up inside of it to the point of despair, you will lose sleep and sicken your immune system. When you cannot experience the beauty of the life you are leading and the joy abundant in interacting with your fellows, you might as well abandon Gaia in surrender to the Illusion's hollow legs. Have they already won? Not hardly. Not when we lead our double lives, dedicated to our love of one another and gratitude for the extraordinary pleasure having found our parts in the Universal balance. Its okay to be whom you naturally are and always were. It shows the greatest durability resident in the core quality of survivors.

Bulletin Board:

. Many thanks to usxp of After Armegeddon who honored this blog by posting Dancing with werewolves in its entirety. Excellent Calvary art, too. This was then picked up through AA on the LATOC Forum as well.

. Those of you who are friends with Charles Hugh Smith will want to see his post of today, May 25, 2009. Memorial Day: A Passing in the Family and send your comforts. In the likely event some of you see this notice after today, it could be archived lower down his page under "This Month's Entries" if he's up to posting.

. I am very fortunate to have such special and insightful people visiting this blog AND commenting. This goes for all of you. You make it a better experience for not just me, but everyone else. Thank you.

Dancing with werewolves

A little over one week ago, strange, but not really strange considering the enormous grief we have to wade through before the true self emerges with revelation, we read these words:
...I can’t shake this feeling that the cavalry is on the way. I keep hearing the hoof beats. They increase and recede like the waves upon the shore. They seem to come from all directions. I can’t interpret it but for some reason, I feel better today and in recent days than I have in some time...
Maybe you reading them now, all over again, are like me in these things, a reader who reads between the lines, always looking for the meanings with which we can identify. To identify with another person's experience unifies us and that unification is compassion. Its helpful to read Visible's masterwork again and then again. There are all sorts of thrilling lens flares bursting beyond the paragraphs, so many you easily miss some as one outshines another and so forth.

For longer than I knew, I've been disgusted by the tabloid turn of events. My mornings are repeatedly spent edging into and away from anguish by my own participation through reading the articles and headlines issued by the Illusion. I won't link anyone reading this to them. I'm not cruel. If that is what you want your world to be, you already know where to find it. Immediate access is instantly available to everyone everywhere, like the seasoning packets in the San Francisco Treat or even faster, your TV. At first, I didn't recognize what was happening. I just knew I should be doing something else, something finer with my time. I thought maybe it was the ads. Then I thought it was the dial-up process and buying more bad news delivered at higher speeds would help. Then it was the trolls or the spies or the robots, which were only more targets of off-topic blame that avoided the original issue concerning the stunning absence of that something finer.

The Calvary coming is an us that removes ourselves from the abyss by individual boycott. The magnet drawing us to the edge is never going to disappear. You are aware the abyss exists, but you also see your participation, however small, invites anguish. It will forever beckon because it is a mystery which we know how it unravels and feel an obligation to explain. We always knew it and through conditioning denied we knew it, again through conditioning, participated in the questions and played inside its maze. I will go so far as to say, it is the zeitgeist in which we live and love, day in day out uniting in our anguish, identifying with the disease, dancing to its music, wearing its fashions, allowing its predations to color our dreams and produce its nightmares while we sleep.

I don't feel that it is required of me, or anyone else, to take a stand at this time. Take a stand and you're right back in the maze. Think of it as a huge impenetrable balloon. You can touch it, see it, smell it, press it and it plumps out again, it has no lasting response to pressure. It does not change except to increase ever larger until its taken over the entire horizon. But if you look away, you don't see it at all. To exist, it requires us looking at it.

Need I even mention we are all in unique personal situations, the same but different? We're outside the balloon experiencing it from billions of complex angles giving it billions of excuses for existing. Of course, this would be the increasing and receding echo of that Cavalry. If you turn off and put away all of your electronic diversionary magnets, you can hear it more clearly. As the next wave of Option ARMs is upon the land, coinciding exactly as it will with religious and mercenary pedophilia, economic corruption, pipelineistan and climate chaos, the beating of hoofs is going to turn into whole Earth shattering thunder and we might very well see that which we were destined to see. Ask yourself, how are these elements helping you personally? What is the attraction? Why even bother...

the test tubes and beakers of the overpopulation pyramid

As dinner preparation hour comes round to the western coast of the North American continent, we put on our little aprons and take the variety of possibilities out of the fridge, giving thanks to Monsanto for our existence, just as we thank them for our demise.

Presented to discerning doomers by LATOC is the National Geographic Malthusian-style special report on what's happening now and why it cannot work. In case you're confused, this report is an eerily similar parallel to bailout mania as the Illusion's sole choice of tourniquet.
The Global Food Crisis | The End of Plenty

[a peek]... Rattan Lal, a noted soil scientist at Ohio State who graduated from Punjab Agricultural University in 1963, believes it was the abuse—not the use—of green revolution technologies that caused most of the problems. That includes the overuse of fertilizers, pesticides, and irrigation and the removal of all crop residues from the fields, essentially strip-mining soil nutrients. "I realize the problems of water quality and water withdrawal," says Lal. "But it saved hundreds of millions of people. We paid a price in water, but the choice was to let people die." ...
I'd like to add that this report reads like a second chapter to Escape from the Zombie Food Court. This is one of those moments you want to say "If the shoe fits ..." Or better yet, the truth hurts. Go ahead and say whatever you want. Our Living Planet is one big laboratory experiment. Sometimes, like now, words just can't say enough.

Once there was something

Recently I suggested "This is the change, this is what it looks like from the inside." I'd like to elaborate in somewhat greater detail, the "change" we are experiencing is not something that is going to happen in the future, a production from Tinseltown starring ourselves running behind boulders between burned-out vehicles and towering used tires, communicating with each other by walky talky. The future is now. It is destitution and tent cities and it is ongoing war wherever an abundance of natural resources are concentrated. It is lying, it is a new language where lies have become truth and liars are never challenged except during sound bytes interrupted by commercials. It is nuclear, it is geography, it is financial and it is religious. Our problem is we don't like it, we see it all as a false construct, it has and continues to take away, steal, rob us and our total worlds of everything sacred and beloved, sustaining and required for balance in the Universe. Does that knowledge end the conflict? Has it ever veered away from this course? If you've been paying attention, you know it has not. Our problem, then, is the truth. We see the truth. We know it, it hurts, so we spend more time in denial than in reality. We think we've woken up inside a nightmare, when actually we were born in it, coming into consciousness inside of it, participated in it and now we don't want it, but its too late. Everything we know about our beginnings tells us we've been heading towards this moment all along. We are forced to accept the natural outcome as it is unfolding at this moment. And worse, there is more to come. You've lived the trailer, you're living the show.

We are where we are, each one of us, because we expected free will to somehow reward us. That's the clincher, isn't is? Good old free will. And yes, that fool expectation too! Expecting all along we had some sort of God-given entitlement to a better life, a better world, one sans all these egregious pitfalls, these traps, we hardly expected it to be this way, the way it is. No, my friends, the tragedy of our time is that tragedy exists and we are bound by the cards of chance to not only slip into traps, but often wallow inside of them for decades. This moment in time, by the way, isn't one of them as I'm seeing it, although for some of us, and I sincerely empathize, it may well be your personal pitfall period.

If we can ever grasp the idea that "what is" is all there is, we are freed to make the best of that which holds true value as junk civilization mutates into a flat, colorless, lifeless expanse. The direction and the increasing velocity of western, i.e.; industrial, civilization's extraordinary rise and decline urgently demands we'd best make our time here as having had meaning if we're going to be known as having been here at all.

Can you see it? Fifteen million years from today? It will be noted briefly, in passing: "There appears to have been hominids, then an empire of a sun worshipping mountain people, another gathered around the depressions where those land masses split and then nothing else until today, folks. This atmosphere can't sustain life. There are signs they had water, but nothing registers. And that's it. Back to the ship."

I Dunno ...

I'm mystified. Anyone else experiencing multiple strangeness? I see a lot of problems and some of these extend into areas that you had no idea were connected until today. It began this morning with my partner calling from his jobsite, seems he'd received an alert on the cell that his outgoing calls were turned off. Except he called me. Now, I see several blogs where I've commented this morning are not showing comment updates. Hmmm. And those particular blog authors typically sit on their comment sections. Well, okay, on my blog its showing a lesser number of comments than there actually are. I'm thinking something's up. I went to site meter to see if I'm even visible to anyone and there are loads of visitors today, but the list itself shows only visitors through 10 pm last night. All right. On to WRH, which only shows posts dated up to, ahem, last night.

That was enough. Just as I shut down, a thomping thunderous, window-shaking noise is rumbling in the heavens. Three, yes, three huge black helicopters (heh heh) are crawling slowly over the whole region. They were so low, they could have seen me waving "Hi" if I had waved, which I did not. Instead, I got the binocs and scanned the horizons like any good west coaster does under such signs and omens. Nuh-thing. Clear blue sky as far as the eye can see. Visibility 10 + miles.

I turn on the TV, looking for what I really can't say, there's Mz. Pelosi looking like the very diversion she's accusing the CIA of perpetuating. We'd love to trust her, we're naturally trusting people, but I'm afraid she is just not too credible. Its the jewelry, always colored pop beads, the snap on kind, she must have a closet the size of an outbuilding with color coded drawers of pop beads in all sizes, large for the days she's supposed to be Bozo and small for when she's supposed to be credible.

I go back online and see the stories about a google glitch. Already over they say, we're told somehow approximately between early this morning and 10 am, they purchased massive megabucks worth of new computers and everything is fine now, not to worry. Then I get this grey alert box saying "Paypal has no valid certificate. Paypal's certificate will be valid after April something 2009." EXCUSE ME? wtf? While I'm typing this, there was a short staccato beeping sound in the background, I have no idea where it came from.

Wait a minute, there was this amazing comment this morning which below is an excerpt:

... I will come out front and say that I have no idea what it means but the GCP Real Time Dot has been bouncing around in the red for a lot of today. Usually I don’t subscribe to this sort of stuff but this one has piqued my interest and I really don’t know why. The After Armageddon web site which can be found on this sites blog list has included the present moment dot between the Blog Archive and the Blog List. For an explanation you can scroll down to an AA article titled “You Can Know the Future”. You can also go to the Global Consciousness Project site ...

Clicking on the dot on any site will take you to the real time graph of activity over the last 24 hours. This is one of those things where I can’t decide if there are things going on I just don’t understand or whether it is all Emperors Clothes...

Taking it all together, and it is laborious to gauge the extent at this time, technology is more prevalent and interconnected that we can possibly imagine. The scope of what could take place is truly beyond our ability to grasp. We are guilty of seriously underestimating the situation we face at this unique time on Planet Earth.

You are free to tell me I'm as loony as a Loon, but in case something really big is happening, I just thought for posterity's sake it should be documented by one of billions inside the matrix.

And one last thing, I've published this entry 3 times and its not showing. When it shows up, maybe this glitch or hacking into the Planet's timeclock will be over. Maybe. And then, maybe not. Once the damage is done, its like a crack the dam. Anything could happen.

the favor of the file keepers

I am going to say something here today, some things the urbane cosmopolitia would likely frown upon or worse, but that doesn't really matter anymore now, does it, we certainly crossed the line long ago and as I see it, they've done us a big favor. I had a roommate in the olden days who made a surprising remark I've never quite forgotten, the conversation prompting it long gone, but she said "The government has a file on everyone." She was adamant about this. I could not convince her that was a ludicrous idea, an absurd impossibility, too vast, tedious, a paranoid, egocentric fantasy.

So here I am today, after a whirlwind tour of latebreaking additions to the bloglist, see RECENTLY UPDATED BLOGS over there on the righthand column, and being in a sort of one comment fits all kind of mindset, my roommate's remark made so long ago comes round full circle because she was right, but not in the way I originally perceived her to mean. I don't think its the government necessarily, the truth is I don't know who it is, but something out there knows us.

We're identified very early, that part would be very easy, and it is that label, applied so early, which follows us throughout our entire lives in this particular go-around. You could, if you are so inclined, imagine what the process entails, what your label reads and where these files are stored, what the space looks like, who are the workers privy to our dossier and so forth.
And then, as an exercise in enlightenment, go back over the events that mark the passage of your time here and match up marker changes effecting you with simultaneously occurring external events.

To do this properly, you'll need to accept there are no coincidences.

Perhaps it is all predestined once you've been identified. Perhaps it is one lifetime-long 3D movie without an intermission. It could be that the farther away we go from the script the more real it all becomes, the less we are available to the roles for which we were originally cast. Then the effort is made automatically to pull us back into line - which goes only so far because once you've caught on, everything on your end improves and keeps on improving in the joy of knowledge and clarity of understanding. You understand that the movie is awful more than its good. You know it is there and you know it isn't you. It is a predatory horror flick, there appears to be no way to get around it, but to leave the theater, hike into the hills and fall arms akimbo on the grass being at one with it, with our Mother, and lie there, cradled in her love.

In other words, I accept this file keeping nonsense because, in a sense, my senses tell me the rewards are clearly one-sided. Seriously, it would have been insane to spend the whole trip squeezed between armrests in the darkness with a jeering, hooting crowd applauding the tortures and yukking it up during the sex scenes, whistling and stomping on the meditations and having to duck flying panties and overripe tomatoes.

I guess I am saying thanks here, thanks for the labeling, and thanks for the memories, indeed your efforts, whomever and whatever you are, have not been wasted. We got the message and we are more than happy to vacate your premises and never ever bother with you again. The pleasure is all ours.

It is to weep

Feeling a little weird? Maybe confused, maybe, heh, angry, how about awed by the sheer weight and scope of these moments in the Now? Yes, well, I understand. Just hang on there, try to get a grip, it is almost possible, if only briefly, to understand really, you are not making this up. Instead of reaching for your nearest anti-anxiety agent, start with Charles Eisenstein's Wood, Metal and the Story of the World for a solid foundation ...
"... Most insidiously, we have each created a fictitious projection of our selves, a self-representation, and gotten lost within it, pursuing its interests to the detriment of our true interests ..."
before spacing all the way out there with Raw Story's posting of The List.
"... At least 21 of the 25 were financed by banks that received US government bailout money, and 11 of them have made hefty payments to settle prosecution claims of widespread lending abuses, it said. ..."
Those two works alone should set you up for some heavy introspection during which you'll flash on what you saw on TV recently or read about somewhere else and weren't completely sure how that sound bite might fit into a larger picture.

And then we have little Bristol Palin, teen mom, preaching abstinence, like used pink ribbon tying the whole package together that between you and me, is no gift. It is unmanaged overpopulation exploding like runaway inflation. From there, its a very short step to the Santa Barbara wildfire (origin unknown at this posting, but you can guess) and an even shorter step to Climate Chaos.

When you were a small child socializing with other children, you probably knew at least one child who appeared to you an immoral bully. Then you grew up and met a few more of the same along the way, separating yourself from them with your own personal moral code. Now we arrive at the present only to discover the immoral bullies bred, ignited by wind driven flames of selfish greed, blind to everyone and everything else that appears to stand in their way. There isn't room or funding to incarcerate them all. They exist among us like armies of fire ants breeding under the pavements running though all of disturbia, every day thirstier, seeking self-satisfaction, bursting forth as a globe wide breathing red carpet moving in all directions at once leaving nothing of the living in their wake. You have noticed by now there is no solution. You have also noticed the public relations campaigns working overtime to calm your nerves. You have heard there are investigative commissions, too, but they always seem to melt away inside the information deluge. A patsy here, a wrist slap there, and it continues unabated.

Hog manure lagoons, a bacon by product, borne from deliberate design to service the majority segment of the population susceptible to lifetimes of lies. Yes, it does all fit together, no campaign left behind. No fire ant unfed. Every silver lining has a cloud on the outside. If there was ever going to be any change, we'd have seen it by now. We'd have seen it long before Obama "campaigned". But that's not what we're seeing at all. This time, we're looking at a brand new graph where the red line heads straight down into the firey core of Planet Earth. In our New World the scumbags on "The List" are walking free, you understand, encouraged even, bailed-out and bonused, shameless, perhaps having an Absolut with a slice of Key lime running 15 knots on a beam reach thinking maybe its time to apply a little sunblock.

we can't go on like this

For quite awhile now I've been saying we're deep into World War IV, which is only debatable if you are not counting the Cold War as a world war. Skip semantics, you are welcome to call it what you want, it makes no difference, we are still in the throes of World Wide War, end of debate. When you sit back and tally up the long view, denial of ongoing bloodshed, fomented chaos and upheaval means you are not looking deeply enough. To look deeply is mental freedom - allowing your mind to embrace everything going on out there as ugly and unfair to your personal security as it really is. Sure, there are many wonderful moments in our lives, adventures and beauties abound, but you will notice they are not as frequent lately, they beckon and vanish, too sweet, too precious to last, as the atmosphere slowly photomerges with the last frantic days of Saigon, reaching up for that final Huey to fly us home to whatever be our idea of peace. As if these horrific, eye-popping events and their hidden tentacles sucking out our life blood, replete with those predictable and unfortunate ensuing complications, could somehow just dry up and go away and we never would be impacted again by this staggering multi-vehicular, total-loss collision called the War on Terror. The irony is that in time, soon enough, it WILL go away. How soon keeps turning into "sooner" as technology advances, pinpointing more exactly almost by the day, just how soon "sooner" exposes itself to be sitting in our very living rooms, in the dresser drawers, on our very own feather pillows under the creeping omens of desertification here and ominous layers of ice over there.

There is no exterior cure on the horizon, either. There is no such thing as "cure" anyway, there is only Healing which is not being allowed to take place because healing means you have to rip open the wound facade and sterilize the infection. This is not happening. As one out of 6.5 billion people observing, I am forced to conclude our particular diseased state is out of control, it may have already been out of control from the "beginning" as we think of man's beginning, destined to flower and slowly wither as the Earth moves around the Sun, and be born again smarter and then again stronger with each rebirth as a more sturdy, survivable species is unleashed with each revolution until that instant arrives when the planet disintegrates having at last completed its sole reason for being.

I'll likely add more links over the next day or two with additional doom. Trust me, its not only me who is under the influence of hard core realism.
Later :O
