What plan?

We are about to learn something more about mourning than we ever thought we'd experienced beyond that all-encompassing kind of mourning already survived and to come again somewhere within each of our individual stories: a mourning so intense you learned there was no recovery. No, the kind of mourning I am speaking of defies language ... too huge to grasp and too heavy to articulate even in the contemplation of description. You are reading here, then you might try it on, but I caution you, all the Forces whisper you cannot preview the experience and will not want to, either. That's fine. That is a start.

I'm not trying to amuse you, but one of the conclusions I've drawn from the study of anthro-junkieology is that is takes 2 months to become an internet addict all courtesy, of course, to the GOM. I succumbed. Unlike many however, I am quite solid with my role and have some immunity as one needs to keep their cool when the Apocalypse brings on its truths. If you know how to handle your mind, you will know your role ... if you want to be there in the here and now, that is.

This past few remarkably beautiful, late spring - early summer days have been memorable for their perfection of color and composition. I once read in Terrence McKenna's bio something he wanted everyone to understand, after he knew his prognosis, he would look at a tiny bug crawling and break into tears at the perfection of it all.

There will be no grand coming together. Of course there should be, but lies separate humans and we are separated as I've often posted before. We have seen how the story is going to go, there will be lies contradicting lies because no one is allowed to say anything now - except agency copywriters who are flooded with press releases by the second, towering stacks of .pdf's., all of which appear to have no order as if the copywriter was some self-professed "expert" at mind reading on a grand scale ... There will be those who lie and there will be those that cannot speak anything but truth. You can see the difference in the gluttonous desires and homogenization of the character. We, likely of another parallel, to the best of my knowledge, have nothing in common with these models of the new celebrity.

If a man never directly answers my question and lies every time he opens his mouth, I would stay pretty far away. Whatever level we are concerned with in human communication goes for all levels. (Actually, there are no levels if you are dealing with the truth all the time, rather than when truth is just a faux pas.)

How much longer can they keep up appearances when everybody knows its an appearance? It is now surreal to think on our mission in foreign lands which has never been made clear as it should have been all along. On one level, it is of course clear, but on the level it counts, it is kept from us. This game has worn out its ability to serve any purpose other than irreverent marketing entertainment, and it makes us look terrible and evil to our partners who are fading, weary of the game, fully aware of the direction undertaken, wanting nothing to do with us anymore, feeling the requirement of self-protection as healthier. This is only natural and appropriate since the human species is more concerned with humanity than with the pursuit of wealth and technology. It would seem, considering the petro-techno-instawealth detour that got us into this mess, instead of driving straight into a flat dead end, our species would have been better served to examine itself and how itself can expand its consciousness and become one spiritual body encouraging the magnificence and creativity of the human heart/soul/mind progressing towards friendly relations with inhabitants of other planets. What are we doing? We could be soaring in the heavens by now, flying fearlessly under our own power, visiting parallel universes, sharing solutions, communing with the Gods in person in the Human Realm and learning important lessons from those in the Animal Realm. We could have learned knowledge of true value instead of learning garbage. Garbage is at least one suitable term to describe what humanity did not need and is cast out regularly in an effort to purify and sanitize our surrounding oblivious to the miles of towering landfulls with giant dozers gliding up and down the mountains pressing plastic casing and broken plastic parts mixed with used paper towels and the rotted discards of spoiled people who stopped caring about anything because they consumed too much, pressing all of it flat into the previous day's compressed layer of the same until they are forced to cover it up with sod and glide on to the next available acre. When you empty a few 30 gallon bags of garbage in your living room you wind up close to the same place you are today. I ask you, was that necessary? Why did you do that? Now we have to clean it all up and know well in advance of such a project we will be all alone in our living room since many want the garbage to remain exactly where it is and will in fact replace it if you happened to make a dent in the mountain. We will find it a defeating exercise, illegal at its core according the the laws in support of corporate personhood. You will have to live with it for now, repulsive and disgusting as it is, unhealthy, unsanitary, capable of attracting infestations of creepy things and more.

What is the plan?
As it stands today, biblical mass migration and mass evacuation, as was done by the Okies in the 30's and by the Iraqis, the Native Americans, Haitians and countless others throughout history, including our own ancestors. (Migration is just a nicer way of saying evacuation which is to flee, rather than flee with a solid plan of where it is one is landing and where they will live and what they will do when they get there.) In this way, our patchwork quilt will become mixed up even more which means anyone harboring prejudice needs to dissolve the hatred like yesterday. I do not want to hear any bs about bringing down home values in the neighborhood, that's handled by another department in petro-techno-instawealth concerned with garbage distributions anyway. Rather, I expect us to welcome the oppressed and suffering with open arms and make way for them to contribute and rebuild sustainably within our communities. The smallest kindnesses shown are powerful potential for reversing the tide. We all need one another, we are all in this together. Turn no one away. Soon enough we'll be migrating too, since it is more than obvious Ferdinand and Isabella are on a different page in a cheap spy paperback and will never even consider how it ever got to this point. Even though enough history has been upended by rewrites according to the victor, some of it actually happened as real life evidence of tragic effect is to be seen everywhere, such as occurred with the Dutch maritime traders in 1604 barging into Africa and setting loose the Atlantic Triangular Trade monster from Hades which progressed into more elusive, religious and indecent conquests altruistically known as "exploring" and "discovery," bringing huge monetary reward to those reading the same pulp fiction.

I'm fond of Stephen Crane's short story The Open Boat written during an especially dark literary period termed Modernism and published in 1898. You should read it through and if you do, you will remember it for the remainder of your days. It is brief and appropriate for these times:
..."If I am going to be drowned--if I am going to be drowned--if I am going to be drowned, why, in the name of the seven mad gods who rule the sea, was I allowed to come thus far and contemplate sand and trees?"...
In other words, and you will be doing that all the way through this timeless work and again as it reinforces itself repeatedly in human interactions: have we come so far, suffered so deeply, loved so dearly, endured torture and needless oppression beyond all reason, all for nothing?

Hi Nina:
Did you pen petro-techno-instawealth for me? If so, thank you, it is yet another perfect combination of words, like the code that opens the lock.

It's funny how my entry for today http://www.oftwominds.com/blogjun10/doom-and-gloom06-10.html dovetails with yours in a way--Internet addiction is something we all have to watch out for, as it is like TV addiction only with links.

Hi Charles, yes, I do make up these terms with you in mind. :) Its good you noticed because whenever you see them, you can be certain they were put there just for you. After all, you gave us derealization which I have used as often as possible wherever it works.

BP's two month anniversary was upon us this past weekend, I forced myself to go outdoors and appreciate the unspoiled beauty of this land we have in common. There is no end to the exciting things to see and learn out there and in comparison to the ongoing disaster in the southeast, this is a perfect time to give thanks for relative calm.

When I first went online, the Firekeeper and I used follow links for hours on end, until he finally got a grey box pop-up saying "You have reached the end of the internet, there is no more to see."

Too this day, I have no idea how that happened.

I love it when you comment here.

Yes, mourning.Lies. Lack of connection.
On Friday I told my wife and our visiting artist friend from Chicago that I would immediately pack up and move north if the Loon was threatened with extinction due to the oil disaster... I don't know why I said this. My research indicates that the loon winters not just in the Gulf, so the species should survive, but not all will.

I had a sudden urge to just "pack it in" and leave the petro-techno-instawealth world. (Yes, great phrase, Nina).

I am now convinced that I will leave it, but with a bit of deliberation.

Great post yourself today, Charles!
I spent many hours this weekend re-working my hydroponics setup. It's an experiment in progress, and I'm learning as I go along. My wife and perhaps others think I'm crazy to spend so much time on something that will produce mere tomatoes (and a few other vegetables/herbs). The effort-to-tomato ratio is undoubtedly high.

But they don't realize that I enjoy the labor. I like to learn the skills, and invent the designs, and see it actually working and pumping and growing.

But think of all the TV viewing I'm sacrificing to build my mad invention!

I'm finding that putting in the hours of hard experimental work is getting easier...
It's also getting easier to recognize and meet people who are part of the remnant. They are a minority, but they/we are getting good at networking and finding each other.
And mourning together? There is lots to mourn, and one must mourn before one can move on to create what must be built.

Which is my American culture disparages and ridicules mourning. "Move on," we are told. "Get over it."
Mourning is discouraged, because it signifies that you have something valuable to lament, and that you may not be "with the program" of being a consumer.
Citizens can mourn the loss of civic virtue, but consumers just buy a trinket to feel better.
An animal with a soul can mourn the destruction of their world, but a consumer's life is lived in complete isolation from the natural world. They are human rats being fed by pressing a lever in a cage in a lab.

Saw Ramblin' Jack Elliot on Saturday... great man. He said "this might be it" in reference to the gulf spill, but it was good to be made to laugh and cry by such a magnificent storyteller. We will need legions of troubadours in the future, to keep our tribes informed of each other's lives and experiences.

Still on your site Charles ...

1. I think we can safely say BP and Joran Van der Sloot are reaching for the same straws without understanding when their statements are viewed by the real world they are viewed as compulsive liars. In both, all credibility has been "blown out". In both, there is nothing either can do to repair the multi-tiered damage.

2. I like charts and commentary together ... if you are polling today.

3. The depression experienced by many from an overdose of negative news is likely due to news being primarily opinion - far more frequently than "real" news, an occasional rarity, mostly accidental and quickly updated by supervisory opinion.

We all say the truth hurts, but truth is the only authentic antidote for depression. This is because people experiencing depression are coming to the table in a clear state of mind (at last) and denied that clarity through additional opinion. A clear mind sees the futility of response in dangerous situations such as BP handling disaster resolution, and is met with damaging opinion instead of fact. Add in typical personal baggage and/or any "relatively" minor threat to one's personal security and you have the perfect recipe for full blown panic, which is outrageously expensive to treat and barely helpful without fistfuls of addictive prescription medicines. This applies to far more than BP's petro-terror as you well know. Indeed, what you said today is fact, coerced inability to express the true nature of the issue serves to greatly worsen depression - and ongoing anxiety, panic attacks, leading to paranoia and other classified disabilities requiring MORE expensive treatment and time out confinement in some "facility". Again, cui bono?

About other power sources, I agree there are many which leads me to suspect the crisis at its heart is felt mostly by the technology, shipping/freight and consumer products industries dependent on petroleum and its distillates.

Your closing paragraphs are better than any opinion, drug or treatment anywhere, anytime.

The reason I've been reading you daily is you mix fact with spiritual truth which is what I esteem most highly as my blog indicates.

So true, Nina. And, in a way, it is a comfort to me that appearances of our American supremacy is sliding into the dustbin, the masks are deteriorating, the reptile's forked tongue begins to protrude. Shock, horror, mourning, and great anger will all be stages along the way. But, eventually, all that will be useful if we are to pick up and create a much better relationship with All That Is.
The Summer Solstice is today. A good time to celebrate the seasons, be thankful for the bounty, be sorry for the carnage we have wrought, and be hopeful for a transformation.
I have been searching for morel mushrooms for 25 years, and never have found one... until yesterday. In my back yard- three huge, perfect beauties! Call it whatever you want, but I take it as a sign that Somebody out there is listening and responding.
Blessings be.

nina said...

FA, I would have seen the morel mushroom in exactly the same way i.e.; what some think of as magic or sheer coincidence, I would see as a blessing. We must contact Alice Waters with this amazing discovery! :)

I find it somewhat comforting in a way as well especially when power sanctions come from those who are perpetuating their own bad deeds.

"... you cannot fool all the people all of the time."

But, the world compassionately extended its help and was rebuffed. This will come back to haunt us as "our problem" reaches their shores. So many times we have turned away from the opportunity for peaceful alliances and work together in stewardship. I would like to think this time would be the catalyst for genuine change, but then, perhaps the blowout is how the Earth's population is to be reduced to what is officially perceived as a more manageable level?

Yes, it passes beyond urban legend and TV reports in Miss. to words I can trust, from a cousin/friend I've known for 40 years, near Troy, Ala., stating that after the rains came, their plants started to die... the freaky black and white spots shown in other videos, then general collapse and death. This in their corn, their blackberry and raspberry beds; even the prized muscadine grapes for jelly. Birds died. Yes, it's beginning to look like meltdown of agriculture in the South. He cried, I knew was he not lying. So many childhood summers spent there fishing, berrying, cooking...now the Evil Ones who have us the bank bailouts, the trillions in wars, and now this, laff on, and Howdy Doody laughs and plays more golf and BP whore goes a yachting, psychopaths all. All they need is a Cat. 5 hurricane, they laugh to themselves at their conclave. All we need is a knife.

Indeed, did we collectively go through all this just to get hit with ice-nine?

Excellent Vonnegut reference Charles, I remember Ice-9 very well. Sort of like introduced species, cheatgrass and kudzu, choking weeds, surely kudzu has overtaken the southern states wherever there is not someone frantically chopping it down. Ice-9 was far worse. It multiplied itself exponentially.

nina said...

Z, your comment makes me think of the cruelty of our death penalty/execution system.

Wouldn't it be better to just knock em out fast with a heavy OD? These combo cocktails are extended torture.

And this convict in Utah who just met the firing squad ... it was said he chose that method for his execution because it would create sensationalism, but I don't think so, I think he chose it because it was faster than the typical cocktail-style fumbling.

Nobody wants to linger in suffering as the birds and sea creatures are doing, mostly hidden from sight because that is how they do it. An ill animal always hides if possible rather than be available to predators. Whatever numbers we hear on the loss of marinelife and wildlife cannot possibly be a realistic count.

First it was the disappearance of the honeybees ...

You know, a lot of species extinctions have already happened in the Brazilian Rainforest and we don't see it.

I've been following (and trying to encourage others to follow) Martin Prechtel's advice even before the ice-pick-in-the-heart event - to fully feel and grieve/mourn the immense losses to the Mother, nature, our animal brethren; and to metabolize the grief into beauty. That's about all I'm capable of, and it's what the grandfathers told him that kept the Mayans going since their 'Nakba'.

FWIW - Here is yesterday's message from 13 Indigenous Grandmothers:
"We ask you to cast, anchor, and hold the Net of Light (Crystalline Grid) steady for the Gulf of Mexico," the Grandmothers said. "This crisis is affecting the entire world, and humanity is asleep. Wake up!" they cried. "Animals are dying, plants are dying, and your Mother is writhing in agony. If you hold the Net of Light steady at this time you will help stave off further catastrophe.

"You have been lulled into a false sleep," they said, "told that others (B.P.) will take care of this problem. This is not so," they said. "And this is not the time for you to fall into oblivion. Determine now to stay awake, and once you have made that commitment, think of, cast, and hold the Net of Light. Hold it deep and hold it wide. Amplify its reach to penetrate the waters of the Gulf and dive deep beneath the crust of Mother Earth. Anchor it at the earth's core and as you hold it there, ask it to unify with the mineral kingdom of this planet. It will do this and will harmonize with all the solid and liquid mineral states on earth-including oil and gas. The Net of Light will call these minerals back into harmony.

"Whatever human beings have damaged, human beings must correct," the Grandmothers said. "This is the law. We repeat: This is the law. You cannot sit back and ask God to fix the mess humanity has created. Each of you must throw your shoulders to the wheel and work. We are asking for your help. Several years ago we gave you the Net of Light so you would be able to help the earth at times like this. Step forward now. This is the Net of Light that will hold the earth during the times of change that are upon you," they said.

"First move into your heart and call on us. We will meet you there. The Net of Light is lit by the jewel of your heart," they said, "so move into this lighted place within you and open to the Net of which you are a part. Bask in its calming presence. It holds you at the same time that you hold it.

"Now think of magnifying your union with us. We, the Great Council of the Grandmothers, are with you now, and all those who work with the Net of Light are also with you. There are thousands, even millions now connected in light," they said. "Along with this union, call forth the power of the sacred places on earth. These will amplify the potency of our joint effort. Then call on the sacred beings that have come to prevent the catastrophe that threatens to overwhelm your planet. We will work together," they said, nodding slowly.

"Think of, cast and magnify the presence of the Net of Light in the Gulf of Mexico. See, imagine or think of it holding the waters, holding the land, the plants, the sea life, and the people. Holding them all!" they said. "The Net of Light is holding them steady; it is returning them to balance. Let the love within your lighted heart keep pouring into the Net of Light and hold, hold, hold. Calmly and reverently watch as the light from your heart flows along the strands of the Net. It will follow your command and continuously move forth. As soon as you think of it, it will happen. We ask you to practice this for only a few minutes at a time, but to repeat it throughout the day and night.

"We promise that this work with the Net of Light will do untold good," the Grandmothers said. "We are calling you to service now. You are needed. Do not miss this opportunity. We thank you and bless you."

I am looking at the lake I live on now and it is raining. There seems to be two types of surface, one slicker than the other like there is some type of film on the water. I hope I am not looking at this right.

My plants were turning white somewhat last year long before the spill. There is no telling what they are spraying. It effects squash and tomatoes most.

I forgot to mention.

They are abandoning a North Sea rig due to pressure and fear it is also about to blow. The same in the Red Sea with an Egyptian rig that may threaten marine life.

I am thinking the pressure inside the earth could be ramping up. This seems to much of a coincidence to me. If this is the case they probably don't have time to close off remaining wells.

Then there is the Palestinians who try and survive on a fished out area of the Red Sea. All they need is oil in it.

Gulf Emergency Summit
1st Meeting Tonight
Tuesday, June 22, 7:00pm

Hello Friends,

After the protest, we all decided to hold our first meeting to begin what was decided at the summit -- to form an organization, put out demands, and begin our mission of getting out the truth and mobilizing mass independent action to stop the oil catastrophe. The meeting will held this evening, Tuesday, June 22, at 7:00pm. It will be at the Unitarian Church (same church as the summit), 5212 S. Claiborne Ave. at Jefferson. Looking forward to seeing you tonight.

Gulf Emergency Protesters Present Demands
to Unified Command Center, New Orleans

25 people mounted a spirited protest today in New Orleans, embodying the determination of Saturday’s Gulf Emergency Summit which resolved to get out the truth about the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster, and to build mass independent action to stop it. This is the first time protesters went into the offices of the Deepwater Horizon Unified Command Center, which recently moved from Roberts, LA.

Marching past building security who said they could not enter private property, the protesters delivered the following demand to a public relations representative for BP who refused to identify himself.

Summit organizer Larry Everest said, “This is the beginning of galvanizing a nation-wide people’s response. We are calling on people immediately affected by the disaster, scientists, experts and anyone who cares about the planet to join in demanding BP and federal agencies stop lying and covering up the extent of the spill. After 62 days, it’s about time people confronted BP.”

Cyndie Lepori, a resident of Ft. Walton Beach Florida, drove to New Orleans to participate, described the oil and dispersants effect on dolphins and other wildlife where she lives, and pleaded with the government to stop use of dispersants and start removing the oil. Anti-war leader Cindy Sheehan led the group into the Center, trailed by cameras, BP security, and New Orleans police. No arrests were made.

The provisional demands delivered to the Unified Command Center are:

1) Stop oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. Full compensation, retraining and new employment, including public works, for all affected,

2) The government and entire oil industry must allocate all necessary resources to stop and clean up the spill, prevent oil from hitting shore, protect wildlife, treat injured wildlife, and repair all devastation. Full support, including by compensation, must be given to peoples’ efforts on all these fronts and to save the Gulf.

3) No punishment to those taking independent initiative; no gag orders on people hired, contracted, or who volunteer; those responsible for this crime against the environment and the people should be prosecuted.

4) Full mobilization of scientists and engineers. Release scientific and technical data to the public; no more lying and covering up. Immediately end use of dispersants; full, open scientific evaluation of nature and impact of dispersants. Fund all necessary scientific and medical research.

5) Full compensation for all losing livelihood and income from the disaster.

6) Provide necessary medical services to those suffering health effects of the spill. Protect the health of and provide necessary equipment for everyone involved in clean up operations. Full disclosure of medical and scientific studies about the effects of the oil disaster.

Federal court lifts moratorium on drilling in the Gulf of Mexico ...

...Summary:
* A federal district court of Louisiana decided today to lift the six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling imposed by President Obama in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.
* Oil industry groups challenged the moratorium on the grounds it caused irreparable economic harm to its business servicing deepwater drilling in the Gulf. [the actual word used arguing against the ban was "OVERBEARING"]
* The ongoing Deepwater Horizon catastrophe has already cost billions of dollars to fishing and tourism industries in the Gulf of Mexico, in addition to harming priceless coastal habitat and wildlife...

Are we in indescribable mourning yet? My net of light must have a hole in it. Let's try harder. MUCH harder.

Mick, Interesting, I mentioned a few posts back, Exxon and Royal Dutch Shell were the two names speculated to have interest in swallowing BP.

About that forum article, he certainly makes a serious argument and it is to everyone's huge misfortune that history supplies credibility.

I'm on the sidelines, not ready to cross the great water, yet. But that time may come as Katrina Extreme puts up the open for business signs.

Following so closely on the heels of the Haiti debacle, there is a thread of continuity to it all - as Naomi Klien would say "Shock Doctrine", although she writes of having been there in person and seen it (an allowable portion of it because she ran into all the brick walls laid in place by BP security). Now what purpose could possibly be served with these ludicrous no see-no fly zone restrictions, for example, just one of many strange and illogical examples?
And this running around behind the scenes gagging BP employees and paying off locals to sign documents of secrecy - why?
Yes, it has a the ring of something we are all too familiar with already. Something did happen, that's all we know for certain. Interesting too, the rapidity with which the courts overturned the moratorium. How could they possibly think all other offshore drillers and all offshore drilling to come will never blow out, spill, cause global eco-havoc and extinct species? Even as smaller spills eclipsed by the GOM have taken place during these past 65 days?

flight? i did that already. i put a lot at risk, primarily my marriage to jump ship and start the ark of the forest only to realize that the songbirds that make their way here, the rain that will come will be tainted or poisoned.

i cant protect anything. i dont know what i am even doing here -does it matter? what can matter when you watch on live feed the beginning of a certain kind of end. certainly an end to any allusions that TPTB would have some limit to their sociopathic siege on all that is true and beautiful. the real shock and awe is the utter carelessness and arrogance of a few that now are completely impotent to control the monster of their making -i cannot write creation here -for this is not creativity - this is an alchemy of destructive evil.

i already had a tendency toward melancholy. i am a dog year person - a personality marked by pessimism. i wish i was a buddha that was detached from the temporal world with my soul singing merrily to the Source. In the world, not of the world.

the video out of alabama about the destroyed crops has me worried. my husband came up to check on my knee and i repaid that sweetness with gloom and doom. he talked about retirement; i said there wouldnt be one; he talked about a future and projects that i said will never ever happen because the gulf situation is a complete and utter game changing life altering event - more to the point, the gulf disaster illustrates that the system is rigged for a very few to profit and prosper and the rest of it, including all species and ecosystems are expendable. there is no other news and there is no other conversation. he fled this morning. who could blame him? i have got to find a way to have a calm and pleasant demeanor or i am adding to the misery.

nina - all of you - thanks for your words. this is the rare safe harbor where i draw much comfort.

My younger brother just purchased a house in a classic California exurb. He's doing very well financially having worked as a death-machine technician for the last few years. I give him less than ten years before his heart gives out. But he will die a single man, with four motorcycles, a truck, a jeep and a four bedroom house.

The lumpen masses simply don't want to know. The lifelong advertising has worked all too well and taking away their cars is un-thinkable in the most literal meaning of the words. The death of the Gulf is not real. Why should it be? The homeless man on the corner isn't real and they can touch him if they so choose.

If you can see the real world you are insane. If things like "health of the soil" enter your thoughts even weekly you are mad. Try to confess to your torturers as soon as possible; it's better for your credit rating.

You see ..neil.., its like I said, she's off like a rocket at first light.
--------------------------------

chickory, we all feel your pain. the truth about what is happening is painful, but far less painful than not knowing. Once you know what is going on with oil rich coastlines the world over the pain turns to anger, once you know the volume of the event in the GOM is on high drowning out the futility of foreign policy, again, anger is a natural response. If someone you are deeply involved with doesn't get it, no blame, they will soon enough.
Depression, melancholy, these are states of anger unable to find expression. Anger is classically socially unacceptable because it has no market appeal, however anger is a birthright which we are entitled to regardless.

Anger is a powerful motivator for making a statement in the best way you know how, which is of course, through your favorite medium of expression. Or, we can wallow in depression and self blame which is not helpful. It is no accident you banged up your knee. It literally disables you from acting on the energy of your anger and allows you to claim pain without social repercussion.

I am interested to see what artwork comes out of your rehab.

I am the same way there is one subject right now. It is painful what is happening around the world but it has come home to roost.

I have been on this one since day one and have been called a one trick pony. It was just a further demonstration to me how many are simply brain washed into unreality.

It is simply amazing how people can watch humans, birds and fish fall over dead and convince themselves somebody is giving them the wrong link is simply amazing.

Noor was right on top of this one.

There is a letter from John Kaminski at the bottom of my breaking news page. He is considering coming back to Florida for his final days. I think he got to that place where the river runs free and decided to just go back home and help.

Interesting map. Did you notice the volcanos on the thin strip we call Costa Rico? The Arenal is a big one predicted to open the channel between the Atlantic and Pacific.

I had a map I cannot locate any more from years ago showing the underwater volcanos around martinique. The ocean floor is just dotted with them. I will look some more and see if I can find it.

I just went to the hardware store where everyone knows me, I made them laugh with a joke, but in my heart I am stricken, and as most of you say nothing else matters anymore.

Tonight I am going to this Bar here in Bend to listen to a guy I met last week play slide guitar and fill my mind with sound to mitigate..................................................
That noise in the back of my mind that is telling me the truth and I stagger. You sure as hell discover what is da shit and what is shinola don't you.

I'll ride this out with you all who I have adopted as family ozone style.

Sorry to ramble saying nothing, I am just experiencing something for which there are no words. I just know each of you is in the same boat, USS Deep Into Artlife West, which has a fleet of ancillary ships in case one of us sinks, another can cast out the sanity preserver.

Lupus. Two weeks or so. I just wanted to thank you Nina for all the beateous art. Who knows where it will go, I have my beloved Brasilian music and two weeks so they say. Thanks to Tex, Rosalalina, and all who who have made my last days at least....endurable. Love.

nina said...

That's right, Burnie.

There was a line in Wall Street where Martin Sheen says to Bud, the symbolic prodigal son, "A man lives long enough, he sees everything."

Its a good line.

I'm glad you came aboard. We may sink, but we won't be alone and good things arise from small and self-sustaining communities.

nina said...

WHAT? Please identify yourself. Please tell me what Lupus does. Did you know or did you just receive this diagnosis? How do they know you have two weeks. Why not 20 years? Please, fill us in.

I am waiting on your response. Hope you got your Gato on the earphones.

You better not be fibbing us Tex. We're already in a rather precarious state. This is a joke, eh? Criminee, the whole GOM loop current has Lupus.

It would be helpful to you in your last moments to tell us all about it. Please don't assume we know or have xray eyes.

If I had two weeks to live, I would not hesitate to say anything I wanted. So I am thinking you just don't want to. More fun to beat around the bush? Make us beg?

Heh, you don't change.

Checked in to this special place this morning and as usual the feeling of being lost and alone vanished. A person not really living his or her own life is only delaying his or her joy. With this community the influence of acting outside the American Dream is adherence for one to live his own personal dream. Follow your spirit I say and to hell with the status quo.

And as usual your artwork inspires.

And Dublimick believes the New Madrid just might hold the key to the Mayan great earthquake.

"How does this tie in to the Gulf of Mexico? It does so via the work of a retired geologist-geophysicist, Jack M. Reed. "(He) studied the Gulf and the New Madrid Fault for something like 40 years (and) believes the origin of the earthquakes lies beneath the Gulf of Mexico. "(He also) says the accepted theory of a quiet geologic evolution of the Gulf of Mexico Basin is fundamentally flawed and needs to be revised."

"A major earthquake on the New Madrid fault would kill 3,500 people and leave millions homeless. It found that more than 80,000 people would be
injured by a 7.7-magnitude quake...."

Not to make light of any of this, if the New Madrid Fault does have an earthquake shortly,
perhaps you won't need to wait a couple of million years for waterfront property in Indianapolis. The water might come to you. Complete with an oily sheen.

"The two towns most at risk because of their proximity to the fault zone are St. Louis, and Memphis, though towns in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Arkansas and Alabama will also see damage, according to the report." If Reed is correct and such earthquakes have their beginnings in the Gulf of Mexico, then it seems to be within the realms of possibility that a big earthquake could happen much sooner than anyone has expected."

When you realize there are over 3800 oil wells operating in the gulf right now it is a sobering thought. The planet herself could decide to seal this
eruption but I doubt it would be a delicate operation.
