By now, you already know the Pig's Flew across the borders. The Pigs are wearing lipstick, jumping species and making purses out of their ears - out from which occasionally dribble all the nickels and dimes to purchase those exciting new security enhancements waiting in the wings that missed out on earlier no-bid contracts, all those other times they hoped to be included and were not. The Pigs simply saw a hole in the homeland's fencing, a brief window of opportunity we could say, where they might squeeze through the razorwire during the global meltdown when few would be paying any attention to the remote possibility Another Awful Crisis readying to shower over the little people on Planet Earth would emerge, snorting, oinking and flapping in formation high above the Drug Cartels and Cattle-Prodded Muslims Scandal, all the way up to Center Stage. Indeed, they made a grand entrance, so grand, so highly anointed, bathed in colored lighting and flashing strobes, with reverent introductions and historical parallels striking deeply into the heartbeat of global consciousness, replete with official seals on the podiums and lapels of the speakers from the highest levels within the all-benevolent Illusion, that whatever else was occupying the bloggers and twitter set, was deleted, again, from the sands of time, never to be investigated, never to be subjected to inquiry by any bipartisan/partisan commission, only to remain in blur, somewhere on the outer limits of humanity's cul de sac, a dead-end street with a circle at the end where you run round and round until you drop.
The Flying Pigs backup singers are apparently under the tutelage of the same techno-choreographer working the Bailout Reapers and the Lost Bullhorn Boys, wouldn't you say? They're pretty good, but not really good. You might say they are baaad, but not authentically proficient overall because they spoil the surprise by overexposing their endgame, time after time, leaving gaping holes in the script. That is typical of this genre, isn't it, to flatter themselves in altruistic spotlights while the audience falls from the mezzanine into the orchestra where everyone is floating upside down in breached sewage, gasping those last gasps behind water soaked cloths, realizing in the sartorial death spiral, they should have gone to the sports stadium, not the home theater, all along. Now its too late. They say its a liquid situation. They say YOU need to do something about it, such as observe a nutritious diet and avoid human contact, or obviously, they will, even though we can not imagine where on Earth they'd find the liquidity to pull this off ... unless they've been piggybanking, sweaty and nervous, orgasmic over the immediate transition this very growth opportunity presents their voracious urge to control.
Now, that is ONLY the opener for the Flying Pigs. Their pay-to-play payola hit is hot-waxed everywhere, popular in every remote smoke-filled hashish tea venue and Bayou Esso gas and Starlight diner, from the mangroves to the camel markets, they want us to hyper-anticipate by pre-purchasing the remaining songs soon to be released and show our love by shouting the mantra and volunteering our bodies and our children in service to the cause.
I hate to say it, but I never really grooved on grunge, when I work, I require mellow quiet to allow the purity of that unnameable higher Force to locate and pass through me as a willing vehicle of its creative expressions. We tend to think hell must be something like Gustav Dore's illustrations for Dante's Inferno, but actually, Dore put together rather meek tip-of-the iceberg imagery that doesn't hold a candle to the hell on Earth for humanity when the Illusion gets jamming on the endgame.

The main stream media, so predictable, jacking up the hysteria a notch or two today, I'm shocked, shocked!
We knew that right? Saying don't panic and causing panic in the saying, funny really.
Nina:
Read your post at VO, and felt the heart felt feeling from it. I feel I need to clarify my use of the word "serious" but doubt I have to. That I do not mean in the use of that word some forlorn image of a character with a negative outlook. But rather someone who realizes the house is burning, and why are we all just sitting here. I found your comments to be a calming, as if to say, yes the masses don't and wont ever see it, but do not despair.
However, I just spent the better part of last week visiting relatives, and the whole thing seems so hopeless. How intelligent people could be so lost, like a wife that endures beatings by her husband and only wants to please him. How totally hopeless is the human race?
Those who put all their faith in the Federal Government and are blind to the mischief they are guilty of...
I was accused of being rebellious in questioning these things, and when I pointed out that there was only fact and non fact, it went on deaf ears. I swear the person in question almost put his hands over his ears when I said that. There is a fear factor so great with so many people, and this latest scare just jacks it up even further.
Without the fundamentals of understanding ourselves, the rest is really quite hopeless.
Because we are attached to them and respect their feelings, we engage them, but we really want them to validate our own observations. If they would only take it seriously, you could then find gratification in knowing you've saved them.
But you haven't and cannot save them from anything since they are content with their own worldview. You will only be a magnet for anger or a black sheep joke.
You will always love them anyway.
Not sure about gratification. There is dialogue, and there is opinionating (sp). We are in a serious point in human development, what does it take to wake up?
Don't like to get personal, but due to heath problems, my days are numbered. I'm not interested in winning anyone over to a point of view.
My only interest is to ask people who seem to be serious to find out if it is possible to live on this planet intelligently. What does it take to realize we are running down a path that is self destructive? What are the right questions to ask that may put us on the right path to avoid self destruction?
I'm not playing here, but you young people have to deal with it. I'm lucky if I have another year, I'm not worried about that. But my instincts tell me to say something, that it would be sad to see it go so easily. The answer is so obvious and few see it.
Facing death is also part of life, it put's things in perspective. Personally I have no problem with it. But it does create a certain urgency, the realization that we don't have forever to figure this out. I remember years ago, my dear friend Myungja. She had cancer, and I was with her in Korea during her last days. One day she felt some serious pain and had this look in her eyes, like this was it, and I cradled her in my arms thinking that was it. I remember well that look in her eyes. Well what I'm saying is we all get the chance at that, why do we imagine we have forever? She made it two more weeks.
Look I'm gonna bail out of these discussions but I want to say one thing. I think there is a way out, if we put aside all our preconceived notions and ask the really tough questions. Are we serious? Or just playing with this?
I met with a couple last night about our local Tea Party--Very interesting--They were up to speed on everything that we are--minus the "spiritual" aspects--They are self-confessed Christians and nice people--I couldn't resist and asked them to read Thomas Paine--Age of Reason--how can you see some things yet cling to others--the rabbit hole is far and wide--
Anyway, we have a web site for "the party" and other than a few posts by a couple people, no comments--There are basically the three of us working the angles--The three of us agreed that there really is no tea party--it's what we make it--we also agreed that it is christian/conservative repubs running it behind the scenes--we are changing the platform here and will see what follows--we won't change anything because nobody wants to--well, they want to but if they have to put the beer down and physically walk to the TV set to change the channel--well, let someone else do it--The radical in me just wants to have some fun with it and say may bit--I'll be MC'ing our next meeting on the 11th--I'll let you know what happens--if anything--
Nina: this post could have been any time in the past 10 years--or maybe even past 30 years--it's just one thing after another to keep the masses in fear of something, anything--don't look over there, look over here--
d-nerd--you are quite a man--a man of honor and truth--I am better for having "known" you--
In response to your question--maybe we are too serious and get lumped into the mix that we think we are not a part of--I'll take care of me and mine--but even then, I'm not a nanny or wet-nurse--we can't ignore it--heck, how prepared are we, and for what? I'll be working on getting the toothpaste back into the tube today........
Jj
I have things I'd like to say to both my two dads, will be back later today. xxoo
Jj, maybe you could bring up the concept of transition towns in your community? I've seen several in the mountains and they are a working wonder to behold.
Dadnerd, I would very much like to hear your "way out". Go ahead, you have something important to say.
Here's a most interesting piece to keep in mind, excellent comments also: A Struggle of
Paradigms
(Thanks Ran)
Thanks for the Transition link, Nina. It is a logical step in the re-education process to go and get the feet wet with others of like mind. It looks pretty daunting sometimes but there are many gazing in the same direction at the same time, so I know it can be done.
Dadnerd, I understand well the lack of deep concern for the extended personal future, and also feel the need to raise a flag somehow on the way out the door. There is a certain freedom that exists there, but the one's that depend on me currently temper a desire to go out with a really big bang.
It is really "All Fear, All the Time" these days.
Back to the garden with me.
Peace.
Z
Hi Z, I have no doubt in the coming years self-sustaining transition communities will be the envy of what remains of western culture. When there are more of them and less municipal agencies collecting fees on regimented nonesense instead of contributing and producing, then we'll really have something lasting. Until then, anything could happen. Developing immunity to that unknown "anything" is the priority of our times in bizarro world.
I don't think its our job to educate anyone unless we are showing someone who is interested how to use a hoe or point out working examples of authentic success.

Nice name.
Hey I'm basically gonna apologize for that last post. My cylinders where down to four, and was feeling a bit like a silly nihilist. Took some meds that were totally wrong and was hibernating for 3 days. That wont happen again, feel almost normal healthy today.
Cheers
No apology necessary, you brought up an excellent question.
I feel like you do about half the time, you know, one day wake up in the groove and the next, wake up just lost. I wanted to pass on to you something I read recently that Terrence McKenna described in his last days - Last Interview “ ...I always thought death would come on the freeway in a few horrifying moments, so you'd have no time to sort it out. Having months and months to look at it and think about it and talk to people and hear what they have to say, it's a kind of blessing. It's certainly an opportunity to grow up and get a grip and sort it all out. Just being told by an unsmiling guy in a white coat that you're going to be dead in four months definitely turns on the lights. ... It makes life rich and poignant. When it first happened, and I got these diagnoses, I could see the light of eternity, a la William Blake, shining through every leaf. I mean, a bug walking across the ground moved me to tears.[13]”
Some of our species obviously go through all of the journey deluded but most of us do not. I credit my Father for letting me in on one of life's greatest joys and secrets: "Everybody has a story."
And more, the great literary genius, Henry James, said of his protagonist, Benvolio (1875), endeavor that does not lead one to broaden his relations with others and the world at large, leads to ennui.
Its sort of comforting, isn't it, to realize you/we are not the first with these thoughts and definitely won't be the last.
Thanks Nina, I will have to read up on that link. The subject of death is just another one of those fundamentally important issues, that rational people need to address. Not to be neurotic and invite it prematurely, but to see the whole importance of ending. We spoke of it in nature, how essential it is, on one of your earlier posts, and it applies to human beings as well.
And the bigger question being, can I end my attachments now while living? Big subject.
Anyway my energy and health are back full steam today, good to be back with the living, hehe.
Cheers.
I see your energy is back!
It is my steadfast opinion that endings are just more beginnings and require complete transparency for and with all involved in your personal circle. Each situation is unique, I know, but you can make everything much easier for those you love, including yourself, by being straight with them and they with you. This no time for holding back. You are on your way to a great journey, you are now more free to be gooey, sentimental, over-affectionate, speak and live in total honesty, to love and show emotions, than ever before.
Most of us arrive here to adulation, gifts, showers, ceremonies, we should leave here in the same spirits. This space we are now occupying is just one stop on the circular highway.
It might be the possession-oriented cultures who mandated death as solemn and mournful separation. The idea of loss doesn't fit at all when you understand how Nature works in that the Earth is our Mother spawning seeds spawning sprouts that flower and mature and spawn more seeds and on and on. That is not sad, its incredible.
The term "Cycle of Life" is not a complete description of the totality of the system. Anyone can see this, the evidence is in and always has been.
Nina asks, what is the way out. I'm typing to myself with no intention of sending this anywhere. But obviously if you are reading it, I messed up.
So I would start from scratch, not pretending to know anything. How to approach this subject? Lets see what the problem is first.
Nature seems to be violent, why should we expect humans to be any different, we are part of nature.
The question is, how can human beings live without violence on this planet? And is that a valid question? I think it is, because we will all self destruct if we continue on this path. So, why are we self destructive? What are the factors that create and maintain this violence?
Okay I want to redirect this inquiry. Let me ask myself this question. How can I find out how and why we behave the way we do? What are the tools, so to speak, that will enable me to inquire into this serious subject? If I start with some conclusion, will I be able to inquire objectively? If I'm a devout Catholic, can I inquire into this? If I believe my political system will make everything right, can I question it? No. So I see the first criteria is, to be free of beliefs. Now that is a tough nut to crack, right off the bat. But after 10 thousand years, have any of these systems worked?
So I want desperately to understand the truth, and the first thing I see is, I have to let go of my preconceived ideas. Like a good scientist, you can't discover something new if you are tied to the old. So, at least for the moment, I have to suspend my beliefs, concepts, ideas, and inquire into this question, why are we violent, and is it unavoidable?
Already I see the mind is getting more meditative, just putting a big question mark in the center of my brain starts to change things. I'm not tethered to some belief, I'm free as a bird to inquire.
As I posted in Petri Dish today, there are very profound reasons why we cling to our particular beliefs, but... for the moment we have to let go of all those lovely, romantic ideas we have, and delve into this most serious of all questions, can mankind change?
I think I'll leave it there for the moment, but, to understand that the most important thing in inquiring into this, is a free mind. If we can't see that, then no further inquiry is possible.
Let's say we managed to do that, which seems simple, but apparently is not, what next?
I see I'm part of the whole of humanity, so in a very fundamental way, I represent the whole. So if I can understand myself then perhaps I will understand the whole of humanity, I'm not separate from the whole.
Now the question becomes, how to understand oneself? Run off to the mountains? Or watch myself on a day to day basis in my relationship with others? Seems to me that is where the action is.
If I can deeply understand myself then the game is up. This requires honesty, not clinging to some romantic image I have of myself, can I do it?
Nina, I would say that is where we should start, not with elaborate concepts of how we should behave, etc... but with reality. It is so easy to fool oneself. But if we are intent on understanding our true nature, we have to face all our characteristics. This requires humility.
So I want to lay the groundwork for understanding this whole thing, and I feel setting aside conclusions, is the first step. And the way to discover our true nature, not the ideal our mothers gave us, is watching ourselves in relationships, day to day.
We all say we hate those evil bastards over there for being so violent, then yell at our wives or husbands, and there is the real truth, can we see it? Not hide behind the idealistic concept of nonviolence?
The subject is big young lady.
The subject is not big--the subject is only you--and me.
Nature can be violent but that's hardly the whole picture unless you choose to see it that way--nature can be amazingly simple and beautiful, or intricately complex--but in the complexity is the sweetness of the simplicity of the total--it's meshed--I have no idea why--I don' think I would even understand if it was written out for me--in actuality, I don't want to know ALL the answers--We need to live it, and die it for it to mean anything to us-, and we only know what our pea brains let's us know now anyway----stop trying to figure out how everything works--stop trying to figure out all the answers--there are not really answers in the way we think of them--we can't put words to everything without taking away the synchronicity of it all-the beauty-and even if we did get all the answers--so what--are you any farther ahead--would it make a difference--as Jack Nicholson said--"we can't handle the truth"--but you have your truth, I have mine and sometimes they cross paths--for a time--it's all temporary-- and thats'why we are hanging out at Nina's at this time--
Cause no harm--it's that simple--
--you define your version of "no harm"
Get rid of the "WE"--there is no "WE"--are you violent--am I violent, is Nina violent---some people are violent--are tigers violent? Or are they only violent because that is how we see them--the tiger doesn't think he's violent--it's what he does--now, if the tiger tries to eat me, I have a problem with that so I would act accordingly--
It's all about relationships--with others, with nature--and the biggest one--your relationship with yourself--can't bullshit yourself--
You don't represent the whole any more than I do--
Can't change? I know one man who has changed--for the better--my better--I am the only one who can honestly judge--according to my beliefs and standards--not according to anyone (else's) or any groups standards--Stop looking at "THE whole" and ask how "whole" are you--right now.
This is Jj--and I approved this message--
The issue is this. We have an image in our minds put there by religion or parents and society in general, that we should be nonviolent. So we try our best to be good. The reality may be something quite different. The question is, are we living in illusion?
What if I put my mind to this and somehow see the whole issue of aggressiveness. How it is part of life. Will I put away the ideal that isn't real, and live quite a different life? There are some people that are so called nonviolent and would actually watch their loved ones get attacked without intervening. So my intent is to see reality, face it, not hide behind some ideal. And if I can do that, I may be free of the whole thing. I doubt that makes any sense.
Cheers
Jj here is a small example of what I'm talking about, just pulled off of WRH thought of the day...
" Many of us regard ourselves as mildly liberal or centrist politically, voice fairly pleasant sentiments about our poor children, contribute money to send poor kids to summer camp, feel benevolent. We're not nazis; we're nice people. We read sophisticated books. We go to church. We go to synagogue. Meanwhile, we put other people's children into an economic and environmental death zone. We make it hard for them to get out. We strip the place bare of amenities. And we sit back and say to ourselves, "Well, I hope that they don't kill each other off. But if they do, it's not my fault."-- Jonathan Kozol, educator and author
I will do no harm--unless someone tries to harm me and mine--then I'll fight you with everything I've got and there are no rules--so much has been implemented by gov't through the confiscation of our money (taxes)and the doling out to others so that the :other" become reliant on the handout--the gov't has no business doing this but if an individual wants to--that's fine--other than not paying taxes and going to prison--not an option for me--what are we to do?
The problem lies in the frog heating up slowly in the pan, and no target in sight---the target will never be in sight because they send others in their stead--I don't worry about it because there is nothing I can do until if, and when, "it" happens--to me, aggressiveness means being on the offensive and willing to do harm for what you want--having balls means not taking any shit that is thrust upon you that you don't want--it's just necessary to do certain things sometimes (pay taxes) because the other option is not too good--
Jj
Jj:
I quite agree, I'm personally not a violent person but if anyone thinks they can abuse anyone in front of me and get away with it...hehe I don't think so. Violence would be standing there and not doing something right?
My inquiry lately has been whether or not humans can change in a fundamental way. We see we have made great advances in technology, but no real change in our behavior, or even a basic understanding of why we behave the way we do. So the logical question is, why? Why are we still basically barbarians. And that led me to this idea that maybe we live in concepts and not reality. I was simply probing into this subject, and it led me in that direction. I do think it is very serious subject and worthy of thoughtful people to inquiry into. Not just because of all the injustices occurring around the world but, in a larger sense, if we keep going this way human beings will self destruct.
If you think about it, we could all be living in paradise at this point in our development, but here we are still engaged in wars and endless fighting for stupid reasons.
Thanks for the imput man.
Agreed--and it is always that small percentage doing the damage--government and organized religion have gotten too big---everything is promised at the end of the rainbow--salvation, wonderful retirement--it's all at the end and you're a sinner if you even question what "WE" say about god--and if you question the gov't you're a domestic terrorist--but it's all for the children and if you won't give us your money it's hell or prison--"listen too the experts, listen to the scholars--it's too complicated for you--just put you head in the sand, or your hand on the radio, and you'll be saved--just like magic!!!
Can I get an AMEN!!!!!
Jj
brilliant conversation, folks. I love this topic. I am wholly in John Galt's camp (Rand fan?).
Nina, my love... how are you? I have been incredibly busy. I removed my blogs for lack of time. I went to mirrors and haven't missed a beat. Marxilist issued the dire warning that "if the world doesn't become socialist, we could all end up in a feudalist mad max scenario like Mel Gibson's Mad Max movie".... I am now sufficiently terrified and thus converted to the ways of the lazy man.
I'm afraid I don't have much to contribute, as Jj has proniunced it so succinctly.
How is Michael? anyone know?
Hi Sweetheart, I do wish Michael would show up at least once in these heavy discussions. My gut tells me he is okay, he's always ok, but he does make a fine contribution when he chooses to do so.
As does Desmond SuSu as does Psychegram.
And you know I am always pleased to see you Stacy. XO
Thank you so much... I don't doubt that Master_a is doing just fine. I was just curious. He hasn't emailed me in some time.
Jj:
You got an amen brother!
Yes, history has shown that the few have dominated the many. The many being good honest trustworthy people. So, as usual the criminals have ruled the world for centuries. So what is an honest person to do? Get on the internet! Find out what other people think, use your head, use your minds, put some energy into this.
You know the powers that be are scratching their collective empty heads, wondering how to control this. I can just see the nerds working overtime, trying to solve this problem. Like Pandora's box, or as you say the toothpaste, how in the hell are we gonna get this back?
Methinks all we can do is shout, write, bitch, speak loudly to whomever, what else can we do? And oh I forgot to mention, protest at tea parties, you know you have been recorded and are on record now right? You've been logged and pegged, you my friend are an anarchist! Nice hat and oh by the way good work my friend. I'm proud to know you.
Welcome to the fight.
