Early on, I developed an ability to tune it out. This was because I was the eldest of my siblings, i.e.; somewhat more free to explore the territories beyond those native to suburban sectors. Naturally, I took advantage of that limited freedom to experience a broader view of life in the same way I encourage world travel as often as possible in this lifetime. Really, who wouldn't? Perhaps this apparently huge group of Trump supporters might not. Like the thugs and firebrands. Did you realize there were actually so many of them? In cities, too, my friends, places where you would not think you'd normally meet up with them. They are certainly not on the fringes anymore. The rednecks' backwoods must have profited greatly from removing trees and encouraging development, eventually allowing it to meet up with major urban centers where caucuses and primaries are held. All their philosophically cloned children cut a beeline to the cities and kept their ingrained mindsets, points of view, unfounded prejudices and friendships close. There is a staggering number of them, the gleeful Wizards framing the Great Illusion surely know this as well as their markets. They have tailored civilization to suit the common man's limited capacity to look beyond himself and his situation, which is, by the way, Jack London's point in To Build a Fire.
"... But all this—the mysterious, far-reaching hair-line trail, the absence of sun from the sky, the tremendous cold, and the strangeness and weirdness of it all—made no impression on the man. It was not because he was long used to it. He was a newcomer in the land, a chechaquo, and this was his first winter. The trouble with him was that he was without imagination. He was quick and alert in the things of life, but only in the things, and not in the significances. Fifty degrees below zero meant eighty-odd degrees of frost. Such fact impressed him as being cold and uncomfortable, and that was all. It did not lead him to meditate upon his frailty as a creature of temperature, and upon man's frailty in general, able only to live within certain narrow limits of heat and cold; and from there on it did not lead him to the conjectural field of immortality and man's place in the universe. Fifty degrees below zero stood for a bite of frost that hurt and that must be guarded against by the use of mittens, ear-flaps, warm moccasins, and thick socks. Fifty degrees below zero was to him just precisely fifty degrees below zero. That there should be anything more to it than that was a thought that never entered his head. ..."
It is my observation their numbers can only grow. As the same time of course, so do ours. Imagine how well that works out. We see it multiple times every single day.
There is and always has been, I am sure, plenty of interspecies mingling which never turns out well according to the soap opera production personhoods. Many seemingly perfect relationships dissolve in disaster because these jack-in-the-box pairings were destined from the start never to be. In the beginning, A types actually admire many of Bs' qualities, qualities that A lacks and vice versa. Over time, it comes out, of course, that A realizes B is not perfectly suited for A's life plan. Then its over and a new path is taken. Often, they repeat themselves over and over almost as if a violent Karmic Plan was playing out.
And while all these As, Bs and ABs carry out their Karmic debt, it runs counter to ours. A very small portion of it is convenient for us and we take advantage of what they offer from time to time, in the process of habit which against your purer self, eventually develops, seemingly impossibly, while nothing is done to bring the great spinning Ferris Wheel to a halt or even slow it down, inertia has taken over and we are simply you and me, reeds in the wind and yes, in the way, unless we yes-man the processes.
I extend my gratitude to all who visit and comment. I do truly love the friends that take the time to leave their thoughts all of which taken together have created our outlying island. We have been doing this for a long time, the era has been an unanticipated joy in multiple ways and occasions. I won't ever stop posting, although as you know, life has a way of putting you in different places for awhile, but I've noticed we always return to this interesting and much needed style of communication. I take you very seriously and have a personal law to never let my friends down. Life is holy.

No snarkiness or disrespect intended when I say that I wish it was as easy to find kindred souls offline as it is online.
And I sincerely offer pranams and namaskars in gratitude to you and the spirit which speaks through you so artfully, for maintaining and showing up in this much-needed place, so unique and different from the current fast-food social-media-meme trends. In a recent discussion of the term "boomers", it was suggested - "trail-blazers".
Izzy, it can be done offline, however, it is limited to a very few. I feel that this is how it should be and a small handful is highly fortunate.
But, we have a special kind of latitude in our blogs that allows for more because, most importantly, geography is unlimited and probably equally important is having the time to say exactly what you want to say without distraction.
I saw no snarkiness or disrespect in your comment. Why would I?
Ahahaha, Trail Blazers it IS! Trail Blazers they were and always will be. It works well with the Jack London quote. Real Trail Blazers thrive on significance.

Can you feel the earth turning right now? Maybe not, but it’s constant. The only way you can know immediately is by the sun, moon, and changing seasons.
The same is true of our lives. Daily events affect us, but they are really the outcome of vast and invisible turnings. The secret of being a Taoist is to work both with the tangible and the much larger intangible root.
The proper attitude is to fend off the negative and to embrace the positive. Simultaneously, we remain aware of the invisible turnings, and do the same on that level too: we fend off the negatives that are coming and take advantage of the positives.
From now on, look for the gifts offered to you each day. If you collect them, build them up, and use them for benefit, then you will indeed have fortune. Quite honestly, good luck happens to everyone on a daily basis, except that we don’t always recognize it or we cancel it out with our own blunders and weaknesses. If you can remain vigilant and grateful—and avoid undermining yourself—then you will quickly have a better life.
Taoists are quiet so that they get out of their own way.
Can you feel the turning?

Your words are rare and appreciated.
I imagine this body needing no more than a warm inner glow. It's a 58 model, all we were left in this Purple Rain. Watching my generation go "sinsemillia" was worse than evading a draft notice. Umm.... because we followed the "blazes". As to inventing a "point" in some "future" in order to sanely self reflect on the sheer profundity of "What's the ?". I / we watched our older cousins and associates struggle with this koan. (Of course i'm a firstborn too) Immune to 'ism, an entity is free like that dog to seek a handout. Sometimes it was nice to cuddle but,

Trying to stay out of my own way here, but this medium allows for comments and participation is necessary when you have something to say.
Both Scrap and RW take me away into thought journeys every time I reread their comments. These journeys are gifts. Thank you.
RW, a number of Haight Ashbury Hippys felt secretly cheated they were not able to get in on the Kerouac scene. The Beatniks lit the blaze and it never went out. It smolders still. Eras are figments of imagination anyway.

The above short story by Ambrose Bierce is equally as striking and intense as Jack London's To Build a Fire.
Gratitude. Recently learned I was a "Boomer" (b. 1964), so I guess that means (according to the line being fed to my college sophomore child) everything is "my" fault. It is both fascinating and terrifying to watch the process by which a culture is shaped.
My youngest now has a girlfriend. That's cool, it's about time I suppose (17 yrs old soon). Where it gets tricky is trying to navigate the fact that while she is "gay", her girlfriend is a biological male who identifies as female. Thus we have a biological male and female pair, both identifying as the opposite sex, and also being "gay" while in their relationship. I just cannot do the math on this one, yet am expected to ALWAYS get the syntax right with dire consequences for "misgendering" someone.
See, I just did it right here - referring to my daughter as "she".......
Is this genuine? a true and spontaneous expression of her deeper self? I have no idea, but hearing my child talking about a desire to violently hack off parts of her (sorry, "their") anatomy makes me wonder what. exactly, is going on anymore.
College student is studying Agricultural Education. Is constantly telling me about GMOs and all the other wonders of modern Ag, and how there is so much disinformation out there that people just need to be informed. I guess she will take her degree (subsidized heavily by such treasures as Cargill and General Mills locally, even back to her HS classes) and do just that. Hey, at least I learned the other day that there is NO difference nutritionally or otherwise between grass-fed beef and beef fed by grains. Awesome.
Nothing makes any "sense" anymore. Fine, I'll take the blame. Seeing how my own kids have been totally sucked into whatever it is that happens "out there" these days that passes as "society", my only hope is that by honoring their path as individuals that someday their inner voice will overcome the din that is modern life. I promised to never subject them to my own dogma, to encourage critical thought and exploration rather than just believing everything they are told or even taught. I am sorry for not doing a better job of sending forth anything other than more confused humans. I often tell them to use their brilliance (and they are, measurably so and otherwise) for good rather than evil. They laugh and think it is said in jest.....
The example at hand is helpful in discerning why none of any of this makes sense to me; if it is a world of A's and B's, what hope could there ever be for a Z to fit in or comprehend any of it? Surrender is a word that is ever at hand, but I cannot yet decide to whom I should offer myself.
Blah. Peace to all you wondrous beings. I have SO enjoyed this place for so very long, and hope this odd accounting of my own current state offers something of value rather than being a public navel-gazing. Great to see your words Nina, and those of the others who offer such amazing gifts here. Scrap, that one goes up on the wall, or maybe a tattoo is in order!

The Little Fete
I take a bottle of wine and I go to drink it among the flowers.
We are always three–
counting my shadow and my friend the shimmering moon.
Happily the moon knows nothing of drinking,
and my shadow is never thirsty.
When I sing, the moon listens to me in silence.
When I dance, my shadow dances too.
After all festivities the guests must depart;
This sadness I do not know.
When I go home,
the moon goes with me and my shadow follows me.

That logoArt pic Nina, I love the red rock areas, like in Sedona too. We will be up there in Vegas for a week at the end of August, and on the bucket list is definitely checking out The Valley Of Fire. I hope there will be some big beautiful thunderstorms that day with lightning and thunder! Gleeful HotSpringsWizard :)
More positive thoughts are a biological mandate for a happy, healthy life. You can live a life of fear or live a life of love. You have the choice! But I can tell you that if you choose to see the world full of love, your body will respond by growing in health. If you choose to believe that you live in a dark world full of fear, your body’s health will be compromised as you physiologically close yourself down in a protection response. Learn how to harness your mind to promote growth. That is the secret of life, just as Jesus and Buddha have been telling us the story of positive “LOVE” for a millennia. It is our beliefs that control our lives. In the words of Gandhi.
Your beliefs become your thoughts
Your thoughts become your words
Your words become your actions
Your actions become your habits
Your habits become your values
Your values become your destiny
You are so right nina and I offer gratitude to you and all who come here. I can honestly say that the positive and love filled nature of this blog has changed my life from the first day I landed on this beautiful island of a belief in LOVE.

Hello my fellow travelers....here is what I have to share
"If man is to avoid the worst of... the coming cataclysms, which are
agents of Earth's own auto-immune response to our crimes against
Nature, Life and Justice, man must clean up his act quickly. Man must
voluntarily purify himself by atoning for past crimes against Life and
Justice or be eliminated by Earth's own cleansing mechanisms. Man
must recognize that Life is absolutely 'divine,' Natural Laws are
absolutely 'sacred', anything that abides to the 'Divine Natural Order' is
righteous, anything that deviates or opposes it, is not, period

Zider Zee, if it helps you compute the relationship, there have always been relationships as you've described throughout history. Especially when you look deeper into the marriages of title, power and wealth its appears this was and is very common. Actually, it goes on all the time, young and old. But you really got me laughing in your descriptions.
Stand-up Comedy Z!
PS You could always surrender to your self, you know. We love your self. I recall an incident where I witnessed you forgiving your self and forgiving Visible at the same time. You ARE authentic.
My Dear Terrance, you are right on the money, child. It is about time someone stated the 100% absolute truth of the matter so perfectly. The line "From God's lips to your ears" is almost too secular to say in comparison to the Divine intervention that passes through you.
In all seriousness I agree with you completely.
Divine, Holy and Sacred.

Zoner, I have friends and acquaintances of every type and category, and beyond categories, and have traveled and lived in cultures where most every possibility is represented right in your own neighborhood. Can't say I've ever had much of a problem in daily interactions, and I've always been good with math, but....this new math for young kids somehow defies clear comprehension and has a dissonance that doesn't quite ring true to my gut musical perception. If you catch my weird metaphorical drift...

ps- still have my email?
Perhaps we're seeing a cosmic culling to planet overload. And likely its more Divine than cosmic.
Another example, BTW, currently taking place is in Japan where their highest population percentage group are the elders. And Japan is worried. They are expecting it to hit 40% in the not to distant future.
What Zoner and Bho describe signifies there definitely won't be enough replacement to continue down the road to certain doom as we're doing now.
I'm interested to see Zoner's response. Actually, all responses are interesting.
UK John has exquisite new photos up which perfectly illustrate Nature's Cycle of Life.

My response is dependent upon "who" is currently driving me. Lower self is fearful that my kids have been completely corrupted and will suffer long as they (hopefully) make an arc that leads them to self-discovery someday.
A higher part sees that what is likely going on is that they get to do as so many of us do - grow up confident in their assertions about the world and their place in it, only to have all of that stripped bare until there is a forced internal shift. I don't know.
Elder kid, in only the last few weeks, has dropped her "fact bombs" with regularity. Friday it was "Roundup is completely safe" and last night it was "there is absolutely no connection between autism and vaccines" quickly followed by some BS about humans and global warming. In all these instances her position was put forth as absolute fact, while I tried to encourage an open mind and entertain the possibility of being wrong. Note to self - do NOT attempt to tell teens they may be wrong about something. They know it all and we are old fools stuck in our ignorance.
As far as the younger ones relationship goes, there is genuine affection and evidence of real deep connections being forged. They care for one another and show respect for all so there is no problem with the relationship, just confusion about all the contortions.
Bholanath, I do indeed still have that info.

Anybody can live in safe areas, it takes a man to live on the San Andreas! :) And I was out there for 4 years. I kept telling everybody we have to find a way to get the hell out of here or we are all going to die. The Arizona desert has all of those chocolate rocks that used to be live steaming lava!
I have a cousin whose father left 500 acres in the will. His older brother (I don't claim him as a cousin) was left the administrator. He told my younger cousin who was 18 that it had never been probated and he was just going to keep it all. People sometimes tell my younger cousin when are you and your brother going to patch this up. He stoically answers with, have you ever been beat out of 150 acres?
The older cousin is getting old now, can't walk and always asks his son for a gun to kill himself with. You can't take it with you. He became a big wheel in this podunk town, starting companies, buying and selling land, city commission etc. all on my younger cousin's inheritance. They haven't spoken in decades. The last time was when the younger cousin saw him coming out of a bar, he was loaded and said these girls here love me. Younger cousin said yeah sure put those hundred dollar bills back in your pocket and you will see how much they love ya.
Cheers
Dublinsmick, I did listen to your Ray Lynch music back when you gave the you tube link for it in the previous post from Nina. Very nice! A lot of the music I like to listen to is of that type. On my way to Deep Creek Hot Springs yesterday I listened to this CD, Secrets Of Life.
http://www.amazon.com/Secrets-Life-Karunesh/dp/B00006G89W
It was a spectacular day with long soaks and fun conversations with people who are hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. The PCT goes right by these hot springs. Here is a link showing images of where I was.

Its good to read a positive comment Mr. Wizard. After the stories from Terrance and Dubs, my higher self kept going off on tangents of what those negative behaviors signify in the larger scheme while my lower self simultaneously feels sadness that so many our species has this compromised bent. Crimes against your family, friends or clients is a mental illness inside a person who has no compassion, no soul that can be reached through love - without having to endure the eventual terrible tragedies they will meet soon enough and then they too often resort to bitterness rather than humility.
I shall go and see your photos now and get a rush. Thank you.
Terrance and Dubs, not that your comments were not appreciated. They go along with what my post was attempting to express. The possibility of two species becomes even more of a question.
What could have happened to each involved to create such people or not happened if they were just born that way. Devious, self-centered, the desire to be superior over others, greed (which is that same desire for superiority), jealously, envy, concealment, exempting themselves from the mores of society at large and lying.
This is not normal on any level.
Hotspringswizard
I listened to Karunesh, I like it, might have to look for one on ebay.
Nothing can top deep breakfast for me however, been listening to it for about 20 years. I had a mahatma once tell me he knew the monks who created it in Tibet. It wasn't Ray Lynch who put that together he just recorded for the monks. Anyone who can create something like that has definitely been in close contact with the cosmic mind in my opinion. It is the music of the spheres.
It never fails, everyone for first time I play it for says where did you get that. That even goes for my grandson and he is used to noise. He said where can I get one of those?
Susannah has spoken! YES!!

You are making me homesick for California.
The area you are shooting shows us the waves of rock and sea in the Pleistocene washing all the way to the western edge of Denver. Imagine the force of those waves to have left such enduring natural beauty.
Dug the international money tree in your photo lineup, too, hahahaha. International traveling hippies building the pyre.
It is certainly a beautiful place. Funny I was going to ask if you see any rattlesnakes around there and then I saw the two pictures of the coon tails. I remember them well from Arizona. I stay away from them.
So good to see a new post and all the old faces (so to speak) adding a wealth of commentary. I think I speak for many when I say that I felt a hole in my heart when the months passed without a post here.
Dub, the rattlesnakes are already out and I have come across a couple of them so far, I have to watch my step. Bull Frogs have been proliferating all along Deep Creek where I hike in recent years. Maybe the changing climate, warmer, dryer is helping them spread. Their Poliwogs are huge, 3-5 inches long, fun to catch :)
Nina, I am guessing you were referring to this pic, https://www.flickr.com/photos/hotspringswizard/10878141114/in/dateposted-public/lightbox/
I think what is hanging in the tree were written notes and not money. To see all the photos the Flickr setting needs to be set to view all, or something like that, I've never seen what it actually says since its my page. I have not posted any new pics in quite a while, since I have been taking ones with my smart phone which actually take very nice photos, and its easy and more convenient. I have over 3,000 pics now, I share them a lot with folks, its fun :) I'll send you something Nina, I guess to your email unless you have a phone that receives pics, or maybe if you have Viber or Whatspp. I assume your email remains the same. I know you love natural settings :) I'd like to put up more pics at my Flickr site, but find I would rather just get out there in nature than spend a bunch of time sitting in the homestead working on the pics. Still, I share them when I can :)
Charles, I think I have seen you doing a segment on RT a couple of times, and am reading your articles on some websites . Were you on the Max Keiser show once? Yes I too kept a watch out for Nina to post again as I enjoy reading her thoughts :)These times we live in, it just boggles the mind what goes on, it looks as if there will be a major crash pretty soon. Quantitative easing, negative interest rates, setting up for bail-ins, trying to keep the unsustainable going just a little longer, going further and further out on a limb.
Dub, in this pic, https://www.flickr.com/photos/hotspringswizard/8753401210/in/dateposted-public/lightbox/ , you see a South Western Specked Rattle Snake and they live in the desert mountains behind our home. They blend in to the natural rock landscape so well at times that I have almost stepped on them a few times. There are two color variations in our area, one like that seen in the photo, and also a granite like color, more greyish. Sometimes I only know I am walking close to one when I here it rattle, which really gets the adrenaline going!
That pic made a pretty good desk top. It will keep me from falling asleep in front of the computer!
I know you probably are aware of the Mohave rattler. The fish and wild life people showed one of them to us in Yuma. It is a pinkish color like the sand dunes in El Centro and the Mohave desert. The guy was probably stretching it a bit when he said if one of these bites you, fall to your knees and try to write your final will in the sand, you only have a couple of minutes left. Then he dropped a white mouse in the cage with it. The mouse was terrified and shaking, he knew what was coming. The snake watched him for a minute and then struck. The mouse was feet up immediately, all over.
The side winders were bad enough. I have seen them strike a tire on a ram charger because they felt the heat. They don't run away from you, they come after you. Once I was changing a tire on the jeep and there were 5 illegal aliens standing to the side of me. After awhile they started yelling serpiente, culebra!! I turned around and the side winder was gearing up to bite me right in the arse! Needless to say I shot him.
I took the boys to jack in the box on the way in.
I had a friend following some foot prints one night, but he left the ram charger unlocked. When he got back in the aliens had doubled around and put a side winder in the jeep. It was in the passenger floor board! Fun and good times.
Another one was walking a trail by the Colorado River and heard a rattle. He looked in the bush and about 2 feet from his head was coiled coon tail. He said he back tracked ever so slowly out of there. You didn't see them too often but you could always see where they crossed the drag, some of them seemed so big the track looked like a python had come across.
They had a place in Winterhaven, California called Red's Place. It was almost a log cabin with a big wooden wagon on top. The sign read, you have seen the rest now see the best! After work one afternoon I went in there with a friend. This place had women's underwear with phone numbers hanging from the ceiling along with condoms with phone numbers.
This guy with hair like Leon Russell was playing pool with a guy who was obviously an illegal alien. They got in an argument over a pool game and the hippie started chasing the guy around the table with a pool cue until he ran out the door with Leon behind him screaming I am going to kill you, you little 9898Y&T6. After awhile he came back in and went to the bar. We were wondering well is the bartender going to call the cops? No the bartender gives him a beer and says the drinks are on the house!
I am getting too carried away with war stories which could go on and on, better shut up.
Dubs, around our home there are also Mohave Green Rattle Snakes. Normally rattlers have a blood toxin, but Mohave Greens have a combination blood and neuro toxin so they present much more of a possibility of being lethal. Also rattle snake bites can commonly cause dramatic flesh destruction in the general areas of the bites. I hike alone many times in mountain areas where there is no cell coverage so if I ever get bit, well, you might not hear from me again ;)Here is what they look like:
https://www.google.com/search?q=mojave+green&biw=1280&bih=647&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwi_h-DUjbDMAhUP4WMKHdYOBIoQsAQIGw
I have been reading those snake stories for several hours now!
Holy smoke

I personally was very reassured by Herman’s cool and confident manner, in essence his “sangfroid” (cold blood in the veins). This calmness transferred to me; in future years when I was in the medical professional treating snakebites, or any other serious condition of a patient, I never forgot this lesson of calmness and confidence taught to me by Herman Atkinson
In our yard one time I was pulling some weeds from around a watering pipe, when suddenly I noticed about five inches in front of my hand there was a coiled up South Western Speckled Rattler. It could have easily bitten me, I got lucky. I wouldn't want my hand looking like those pics in that last site you linked to Dubs. Through out the year during my hikes, sometimes I will see a couple of dozen or more. At Deep Creek where I go hiking a lot there is another type called a Southern Pacific Rattlesnake. With any of them, sometimes they won't rattle even when you are close, so you can't depend on that.
I tried to email this but earthlink doesn't take MVI videos. It choked my whole email down for awhile.
Anyway these are my pet ducks. The one female tries to intimidate me.

Hendricks expressed sentiment, something wished for, but the architecture of the human mind creates actions ( very consistently ) that mean the love of power will continue to propel humanity into increasingly perilous conditions. There are good people in this world, and I try to spend my time with them, while I can.

And then there is this little problem, https://survivalacres.com/blog/denying-reality-means-disaster/#comments
At the link, its the info above the one comment by Izzy.
... the love of power will continue to propel humanity into increasingly perilous conditions. ...
For all we know Wiz, it could have been designed into the system from the beginning. We just happened to come into adulthood about the time things really got rolling. But the breakdown may have been going on from the midpoint of the planet's life.
We have yet to find life anywhere else.
What I mean by that is life beyond Earth has not been found. It could have existed previously on planets where geologic evidence shows water once flowed.
... the love of power will continue to propel humanity into increasingly perilous conditions. ...
Love of power is not love it is hubris, an attachment. Love is not what we become but who we already are.
Go to the truth beyond the mind. Love is the bridge.
