The Way Out

Since the dawn of human history, people have experienced stress.  True, I wasn't there in this particular envelope, but having a Saber Toothed Tiger breathing down your neck would definitely have been stressful.  Although, there was enough of this same Soul there to recall I was stressed to the max from being yanked around by my hair at spear point by a male intent on exercising the rites of mating.

I would define stress as anything that takes you off the track you must travel to survive, including momentary, intermittent or long term, extreme  derailments.  It is invisible, the kind you experience in your mind concerning some personal situation, so ethereal, fleeting or ambient ... it is almost always unrecognized as stress, rather than some of the myriad mainstream unpleasant conditions people cling to like thumb suckers' blankies.  The marketing departments of the Pharmanatical personhoods tell us stress is a disorder - for which they have copyrights on the curing agents, all of which will riddle you with addictions if you continue to pursue the lifestyles of Present Shock, but stress is not a disorder, it is the contagious, infective and exacerbating agent for all disease.  Cure, by the way, is not the same as Heal.  Cure only suppresses symptoms, to Heal is to cleanse the body entirely of that which causes symptoms in the first place.

At its root, stress is a diversionary tactic performed by the representative-self against some deep, meaningful insight you were closing in upon when something negative bursts in unannounced, pushing aside your Higher Intelligence.  You have to watch out for that if you are trying to get somewhere. Some stress free somewhere.  Invisible, internal stress and its accompanying side effects will wrack your body and soul making it impossible to get anywhere at all.

That place we really want to be is the place where you float along calmly throughout the entirety of your suns and moons, adding or subtracting by choice input from external forces, wanting for nothing, at odds with nothing, in awe at the wonder of it all and driven with right purpose while performing natural acts of compassion and seva wherever it comes across your radar.

We wonder why it is that this isn't always the goal of our species.  We wonder how it is such a species exists in this world alongside us, while the entire reason for us to be here is revealed as soon as the representative-self disappears out back for a smoke.

We marvel at the extent of misery caused by that other part of the species, the shocks and upendings this other (they look like us, sort of, common language, sort of, common physical issues, sort of) species has wrought and continues, rapidly diversifying and expanding the misery playbook at the speed of light as we speak, with no plans to call it a wrap. OH NO, never, its real goody lies directly at the heart of the exponential economic growth mission as the basic requirement for superpower supremacy . You've noticed rather recently numerous peace loving nations who would never go to war are being quickly drawn into the ring.

It occurs to me we are seeing not only too many wars (Hey, now, why war at all! C'mon!), we are seeing the frenzy of escalation building towards the superpowers' war to end all wars.  And this escalation appears as something we may have secretly suspected all along, likely never spoken aloud, but thought "No, that can't be it, that's absurd, these are grown men and women, elected officials" ... Yes, I am speaking of the unspeakable, The Superpower Testosterone War.  Isn't that why this petty, diabolical phase is called cold war?  And hot war would then be when blood flows in the gutters?  Unh huh.  This long drawn out cold phase is classic softening the target.  We've seen it before and before that.  The problem is superpowers and Wannabe superpowers resist softening which brings out all manner of insane, conflicting reports made more insane by comments from the trolling lost tribes of the Walking Dead.

The planet is certainly large enough to support numerous empires, it is incredibly self-destructive to expend the extremism required to undertake being the sole empire and most especially when in order to actually achieve such an unnecessary goal, they place all nations at extreme risk for annihilation.  Perhaps this is how they like to live. Perhaps they have no idea what to do with themselves if not this?

Wouldn't that be a stupid way to go ... paranoid and immature,  high on stress, blind to the bigger picture.  Taking sides was never a thought, born and raised on one side only, where curiosity and intuition were blunted in the womb.  Disastrous from the get go.  Even in our own lifetimes we've seen it over and over, enough so that the "lone nuts" all tatted up and pierced, have grown so comfortable with mass slaughter the media uses these lost souls as cover for the real thing playing out on another level.

We pray they all undergo an extraordinary religious experience immediately and get hip, their stress melting away like Lao Tzu riding his horse off into the forest. It could happen, too, as our abused Mother Earth buries, drowns, starves and bakes her inhabitants.  Mother Earth certainly knows how to handle abusers.
Anything could happen.  At any time ...

There is no such thing as "too late to turn it all around".

If you are carrying stress around your neck like a burning tire, just take it off, stop, look and listen.  The minute you lighten your load and cast out the representative-self you will be free.  It really is that simple. If you can envision yourself without the waterboarding of consumerism, popular thought, musts and shoulds, your self-imposed life sentence is instantly commuted to join the natural world absent the Illusion and their nightmare fantasies.

After that, my suggestion is to stay out of the way.
Far out of the way.

At first the Tao had no name. Words are not eternal.
Let me describe these distinctions.
Because of words, there are distinctions.
There is left, and there is right; there is relationship,and there is duty;
there is discernment and there is discrimination;
there is competition, and there is struggle.
These are called the eight virtues.

Beyond the six realms of heaven, earth, and the four directions, the wise accept but do not discuss.
Within the six realms, they discuss but do not pass judgement.
In the Book of Spring and Autumn, the chronicle of ancient kings, the wise pass judgement but do not question.
When there is division, there is something which is not divided.
When there is questioning, there is something beyond the question.
Why is this?
The wise keep their wisdom to themselves while ordinary people flaunt their knowledge in loud discussion.
So I say,"Those who dispute, do not see.

cats. Not fangs, tusks. Always more than one, even narwals are just dead twins. Not easy to talk around.

Easier to hide the extra stuff. Things get trimmed, and stay pissed off for a time or two.

And they say horns are holy, and women bleed, and the stars shine. I drop some things. Now my master but not really has dropped off another fleece. That is the dead old truck. He says he took a Barbar sheep.

I could not tell him that the old Welsh did not need to be related to those castles. At least this is just rocks, and not fused glass. He says he is keeping the skull.

I think this will get piled up with the rest, and not get noticed for awhile.

Maybe this stuff will end up in some damned church.
Nothing else much holds for time.

I remember different, and that is a small hope.

Yes Neal, cats with tusks! You inspire me to do some research on Narwal infants, thank you. I've seen their tusks in museums and in an estate collection. I never liked seeing them.
And you are right, at some point everything will be dust on an empty planet. An uninhabitable planet.

I would love for you to email me and tell me how you remember it, unless you are okay with telling me here. I'm interested and sure I am not the only one.

Shivaratri greetings.
This year, after 3 years' absence, the roof got raised. Played ass off for 5 hours. My beloved's presence was felt. More energy than I've ever put out. Full offering. What else to do?

The logo-art/header makes me cry. That day's memory is fresh.

Be pretty trippy to have Scrap for a father, wouldn't it? And for Prince Blackie too. I bet your children are very interesting and I would just love them.

(Morningstar Farms (green package in freezer), you might know for their "grillers" veg-meat patties, also makes crumbles called "meal starters". With the crumbles you can make all the homey food you want, stews, spaghetti, tacos, meatloaf ... although meatloaf would have to change its name.)

I see you flow.

A full week of holiday greetings to you, did you take pictures of the Yantras? So much roof raising excuses you from your camera if not. But they are so beautiful, the colored rices, the perfect balance, under the night sky, stars, fire, very inspiring for I-ounds. What you did for your heart, by going back, appears to renew the spirit. Your Bros need you too you know.

I will change the photo if you ask. But I would like anyone coming to visit here to see what extraordinary gifts you bring to us. You should remember everyone who reads this blog loves you and in the presence of greatness, great loss, great love, great mind, great compassion, a lot of people clam up. I guarantee you, everybody knows and are crying with you.

No way change the photo.
Can cry and still love it a lot.
This was not the colored rice festival. Maybe come another time, another fall. I've trained the yout to make the designs well now.
This one to celebrate the true divine nature of all beings as including and beyond all dualities.

That camera shot on the blog is really something. You look into it and so much happens in the heart-mind. Then with your added perspective different images/thoughts start to come about. I love the little gate of to the left side. Gateless Gate.

Insects Awaken (Jing Zhe)

Insects Awaken is the period when dormant insects emerge again. The winter has been harsh and cold, and now they come back with the warmth and excitement of spring.

When do we awaken? Granted, our environment can sometimes be harsh and cold too, so we shut down emotionally and psychologically. Once there’s some respite, our life-force quickens again. We awaken, but we can only awaken with the surge of what was always within.

Let us sink our very breath to those wellsprings of our lives. If we learn to do that in the profound ways of the Taoists, then we may well be able to withstand even a return of the harsh and the cold.

There is that whole waking up. Naps are hard to come by.
Of course, not the everything being stuck together, but that whole repair by what is described as a sort of War.

Everything mostly wants the stuff that has always been here to fix stuff. Probably should know when to fix leaks, and when to let that do whatever.

Of course, that is that whole management of free will.
The source of that probably jumps into the pool, and does not care after time about how that looks.

Feet first, heads first, and all the other stuff.

Makes a splash. Takes time.

Nina I love cosmic convergence. Sometimes the girls over there come and remind me when I have missed a good one. They have more contributors and many times they say what I am trying to say but in a more eloquent way. I do love throwing in a few of my collaborating posts with it however!

I think they missed it a bit on the Kennedy story however. I thought Mathis blew it open.

It has been a tough year, the wife has alzheimers and the other day wanted to argue with me that it was not sunday. (German stone head). I told her hey look, I am not going to argue with you over what day it is, it is at the top of my computer.

Su Light did stop by, always get a kick out of hearing from her. She keeps us posted on what is going on down under.

I had the home owner association write me and say I had so many days to get rid of the weeds in my yard. My yard looked like golf course compared to some around here. Makes me wonder.

So against my better judgement I sprayed it and the weeds were dying. They said no not good enough, you have 15 days. I threw down some trimec and kept pulling then I noticed my hands, mouth and eyes were burning and I had head aches.

You would think on a lake if they had any sense they would just tell people to mow the yard edge and be done with it. But no we got a new guy who thinks he has big balls.

I told him if he was worried about property values why do the spray the lake edge with round up, put wifi receivers on every corner with cameras and smart meters. Nobody with an I.Q. over 70 thinks this will increase value.

Also told them that someday a class action lawsuit involving round up with take place and rest assured I will be on it. We had a fish kill in this beautiful spring fed lake 2 years ago and I am sure it was the roundup.

I can't sell this place now as property values have plunged and nobody is buying anything anymore. They just keep building brand new hud housing all around here. To get a brand new beautiful home, all you have to do is be at the top of the list.

I am too old for this song and dance, I am 70 years old now.

And some of it is pure gold.

Likewise, it is only for the ultimate benefit of the controllers that their arrogance has become so unfathomable and intractable. Difficult though it may be to understand, they have an integral part to play in this cosmic drama. Someone always has to play the bad guy, you know. Perhaps the time has come to show our understanding, and maybe even some appreciation, to those crazies who are running the insane asylum for putting on such a convincing show.”

Very sorry your wife has Alzheimer's. Was she diagnosed or is it your observation? There is medication for the early stages. Her care will make things like the HOA seem absurd.

My father called it the Devil's Disease. It truly was for my Mom.

Huge adjustments for you are coming. Hang tough my friend.

That is only what one doctor suggested, he is probably right. You know what I talking about then, it can be quite trying. Now she throws out food, a bag of potatoes, onions etc that have been around a few days and says she is getting rid of all that old food.

Wow I checked this morning and it was 2500 dead, now 4000. I suspect it will keep rising. A 7.9 is hard to imagine.

How To Live

"Don't Worry About Death
Pay Attention
Be Born
Read at lot, forget most of what you read, and be slow-witted
Survive love and loss
Use little tricks
Question Everything
Keep a private room behind the shop
Be convivial: live with others
Wake from the sleep of habit
Live temperately
Guard your humanity
Do something no one has done before
See the world
Do a good job, but not too good a job
Philosophize only by accident
Reflect on everything; regret nothing
Give up control
Be ordinary and imperfect
Let life be its own answer"

- Summary of some of the views of Michel de Montaigne (1533-1592)

SYCAMORE
In the place that is my own place, whose earth I am
shaped in and must bear, there is an old tree growing,
a great sycamore that is a wondrous healer of itself.
Fences have been tied to it, nails driven into it,
hacks and whittles cut in it, the lightning has burned it.
There is no year it has flourished in that has not harmed it.
There is a hollow in it that is its death, though its living
brims whitely at the lip of the darkness and flows outward.
Over all its scars has come the seamless white of the bark.
It bears the gnarls of its history healed over.
It has risen to a strange perfection
in the warp and bending of its long growth.
It has gathered all accidents into its purpose.
It has become the intention and radiance of its dark fate.
It is a fact, sublime, mystical and unassailable.
In all the country there is no other like it.
I recognize in it a principle, an indwelling
the same as itself, and greater, that I would be ruled by.
I see that it stands in its place, and feeds upon it,
and is fed upon, and is native, and maker.

This morning I was born again and a light shines on my land.
I no longer look for heaven in your deathly distant land,
I do not want your pearly gates, don't want your streets of gold,
This morning I was born again and a light shines in my soul.
This morning I was born again, I was born again complete.
I stood up above my troubles, and I stand on my two feet,
my hand it feels unlimited, my body feels like the sky,
I feel at home in the universe, where yonder planets fly.
This morning I was born again, my past is dead and gone.
This great eternal moment is my great eternal dawn
each drop of blood within me, each breath of life I breathe
is united with these mountains and the mountains with the seas
I feel the sun upon me, its rays crawl through my skin
I breathe the life of Jesus, and old John Henry in
I give myself, my heart, my soul, to give some friend a hand
this morning I was born again, I am the promised land.
This morning I was born again and a light shines on my land.
I no longer look for heaven in your deathly distant land
I do not want your pearly gates, don't want your streets of gold
and I do not want your mansions, for my heart is never cold.

Have you ever noticed a tree standing naked against the sky,
How beautiful it is?
All its branches are outlined, and in its nakedness
There is a poem, there is a song.
Every leaf is gone and it is waiting for the spring.
When the spring comes, it again fills the tree with
The music of many leaves,
Which in due season fall and are blown away.
And this is the way of life."
