We can, however, as humans gifted with insight, compassion and intelligence, work to overstand the situation for what it is and continue as we were with our personal progress before we were so rudely interrupted. We move on, not at all with a "nothing to see here" attitude designed and implemented to reinforce denial, but with acceptance that great suffering is integral to the life experience. Soon enough, if you don't know it already, you will realize the useless eaters and unwashed masses are not you and me. I could say something belittling like "they are those uh, others", but the truth is, useless eaters and unwashed masses don't exist, those terms are labels no more realistic than labels on cereal boxes or officialized diagnostic manual categorizations of pharmaceutically profitable disease, i.e.; artificial conditions, syndromes and disorders created expressly for the new world paranoiacs' denial by negative contrast. Sufferers are human beings, just like ourselves, caught in a maelstrom of events most of which are not of their doing and who have not yet accepted their own fairy tales prevent them from alleviating their misery. It is also true that suffering can become an identity carrying short-lived benefits for the sufferer on which he or she develops habitual attachment. When that happens, it is close to impossible for the human being to overstand themselves, much less anything else.
(Related: The Globalization of Addiction ... all these seemingly disparate accounts are united by their focus on the individual addict; but even a cursory historical and cultural survey reveals that the incidence of addiction is essentially a social phenomenon. Many historical and indigenous cultures have lacked even the concept of addiction - but many of these same cultures, once their traditional structures have been disrupted by conquest or colonisation, have been destroyed by it. All across the Americas, the Pacific and Australia, hundreds of 'demoralised' cultures have descended into vicious spirals of addiction, usually to alcohol, in many tragic cases wiping themselves out entirely. The root causes of addiction, then, must run deeper than any individual pathology: they must be sought in a larger story of cultural malaise and 'poverty of the spirit' that forces individuals, often en masse, into desperate and dysfunctional coping strategies. ...)Emphasis, mine.
It looks as though a failing media in general works overtime in its breathless twenty four-hour news cycle aka theme park rides though the haunted houses of our planet catering to a panic stricken audience gliding round and round islands of despair in little oar-less rowboats, they would do this as panic victims themselves unable to imagine survival in any other, more positive form while eking out an income as Force Multipliers from its primary source of support . You will recall the Force Multipliers of the Bush administration as one brief chapter serving their ever-morphing survival requirements. Indeed, those retired military spokesmen making the rounds of talk shows were the embodiment of the future as heavily funded advertisements for one coercive entity's (is there any other?) point of view and likely not nearly as easily recognizable today as technology marches unimpeded further and deeper into the twilight zone. This is one area over which we actually have some control. When we find ourselves feeling bad about the state of the state, we can turn it off. That's right, put it away and do something else, something that is unrelated to the crude world of manufactured pain and loss. We do not need to go there. Try to remember what it was you did when you woke up before you possessed a laptop. I have some sweet memories of being outside, having coffee, on a funky porch under shady branches in the spring, or early summer on cool mornings, there were dogs, flowers, tea cup clouds overhead that inspired ceramics, the occasional passing bicycle, an acoustic guitar to get the sleep out of the fingers, awakening the mind with scales and chord progressions. We can still do this, IF we want to do it. There is no law against reading the TAO as the Earth turns towards daylight. In fact, as record temperatures increase, rearranging your most positive activities to earlier, cooler hours will become necessary. In the desert, for example, the population in general begins their day anywhere from midnight to four a.m. It is not unusual to see dog walkers in their pj's or families making a supplies trip into the city well before sunrise. It is certainly within our ability to adjust to constantly changing circumstances and go with the flow. We just have to recognize that the outside world is immovable, a wall, Berlin, Palestine, Green Zone, etc., cast in concrete to the core of the Earth reaching beyond the space station and leverage the best of our own positions in the face of it. We know and we will handle what we know with grace and compassion.
We are well along in this new world now, thrust into it rather suddenly by history's measure, after a hard landing, waking to intense confusion and ludicrous debate on the realities of just what is and is not. After all is said and done, our peace of mind and ability to draw breath, find joy in every day through freely given, seemingly insignificant acts of kindness, are all we have and all we ever needed, provided we allow the message of The Forces to reach us and trust that message as gospel. No one will explain it to you. Everyone is making their way just as you are. There is no logical reason we cannot make it better for all starting with ourselves, in baby steps. Think of the totality of life as boot camp, we are in training to maximize genuine altruism, starting with ourselves. When you can rescue yourself with unswerving determination from the miserable cesspool of fear and loathing, prejudice, denial, panic, anxiety and depression that has a ghastly way of arising literally anytime, anywhere, all the unconscious triggers being scattered widely and disguised as anything but what they actually are, you will eventually note an interesting effect blessedly unfolding around you, I call it "exponential compassion". Children appear to pick up on it very quickly, followed by adults down the road a bit. Of course, there are far more in your sphere of community who will forever cling to their identity of suffering, but you will see plenty of encouragement for your efforts, regardless that those efforts were initially self-directed. Of what value are your insights anyway, if not to position yourself so that you are able to rationally survive the cruel nature of our bizarre situation thus, revolutionizing your own relationship with the world at large?
It is my opinion this is how we have to live if we are going to survive our time left on this planet however long or short it may be. Was there ever any other way? We have many new readers, Hi there, allow me to quote again the words of Henry James in his powerful short story, Benvolio:
... One was often idle when one seemed to be ardently occupied; one was always idle (it might be concluded) when one's occupations had not a high aim. One was idle therefore when one was working simply for one's self. Curiosity for curiosity's sake, art for art's sake, these were essentially broken-winded steeds. Ennui was at the end of everything that did not entangle us somehow with human life. ...
If you do yourself the favor of picking up a Henry James work, which I can not recommend highly enough, you could easily find yourself reading very slowly since Mr. James had the unusual skill of making each sentence a story in itself.

Hello Nina.....Your analysis of the present day state of affairs is brilliant and inspirational. It is very difficult to take the high road of compassion and kindness when the rug is being slowly jerked out from beneath you and you see it happening to most everyone around you.....the stress levels continue to rise and I find myself having to step back and reassess what is truly important.......yes overstand our relationships to this world and turn from cruel and ugly interactions with our fellow human beings....small steps in the shadow of the monster.......peace love out!
Sweet Terrance, your analysis is brilliant too! "...It is very difficult to take the high road of compassion and kindness when the rug is being slowly jerked out from beneath you and you see it happening to most everyone around you..."
Exactly what I'm seeing. Rampant alcoholism, extreme poverty - financial and of the spirit - to the point of trashing their communities because there is no hope, no faith, no one cares. In effect, it is left up to those few who do care and the job is heavy. No longer can you refer someone to some helper agency because those too are now dysfunctional. This is the legacy our peoples have been left with, Jah guide us all.
May your stress level decrease with your overstanding.

Very good.

Nina I really love that Butterfly photo. Thanks for putting it up. I took that pic out near what I call the Crystal Oasis, a rock garden in the desert I made. Its a remote area in a place I call Hidden Valley because its surrounded on all sides by steep rocky mountains.
The Butterfly was sitting on a Thistle and in that spot some of them grow every year. In the winter of 2011 we had a great deal of rain and about 15 thistles grew up instead of the more typical 6-7 in that spot.
Regarding the pursuit of grace and compassion as a way of being and behaving towards others, it is an endeavor that is a worthy pursuit every day we wake. Some people of course are more deserving of our consideration in this respect. Our goal of good will is going to be tested often, and more so in the future.
Still, we must try as any achievments towards this end are surely better than sliding down further and further into despair, apathy and the losing sight of the reality that there is always goodness to be found and done in this world, even set against just how challenging and chaotic much of it is becoming.
We can if we try, shine out through our actions small rays of postive energy to the extent that we each are able, and the effects of what it will cause will precipitate in the larger scheme of things in the manner it will, in pathways we cannot predict.
We can each accomplish many things, we are all unique, so look into yourself and set about the task of doing whatever it is you feel compelled to do towards spreading goodness. Whether the deed is big or small, its worth it :-)

Mister Wizard said ..."Some people of course are more deserving of our consideration in this respect. ..."
Like the people who comment here for example, pouring out their heartfelt awareness and extending our connectedness.
I am in your debt for putting imagery to a vision.
Isn't it interesting how heavy rains will either bring such beauty or devastating anguish? Perhaps it is even predictable depending upon where and when they fall?
Gratitude, as always your words and works inspire.
Here is a photo I took around the same time as, and in the general location of the Butterfly image. That area in the summer will often see temps 100-110 but the magic of water can create the occasional fantasy land of wonderous miniature scenery. In the middle is a little clay head I made which is actually shaped like a quarter moon but since you are looking at it straight on you can't see this aspect of it.
There is a whole amazing world in that little space of ground. It ended up being an interesting perspective the way the plant with long stems and white flowers allowed for the placement of the head in its middle, with the stems going out in various directions.
It was an ephemeral display, becoming a mere brown parched piece of ground as the heat of summer grew. But for a moment in precious time, the Moon Man with his star eyes was nestled in a place of Mother Earth's magnificence, an inspirational desert chimera for the eye, and mind :-)

Right on cue Fellas. Very touching. Everybody's going to be okay.
Really, really beautifully put, Nina.
What is that prayer that they say in A.A., "accept that which I can change and that which I can't - and learn to tell the difference..." or something like that. I'm beginning to tire of batting my head and time against a wall that I can't change. I do have a lot of compassion for others, but I tend to forget to have compassion for myself as well. Thank you for remembering for me. I do not have to feel guilty about taking pleasure in small things, even as The World gets more and more grotesque.
respects.
Awesome call, Freeacre! I had not thought of that connection when making this post and you are absolutely correct. I've seen that AA prayer many times on the coin members carry, I recall it goes something like "...God grant me the wisdom to know the difference..." I'll look for it and post it here.
Its no wonder that program has more success than any other. But I think we, especially, can take it even further by keeping in mind the words of Thich Nhat Hanh, brought to us by Scrap in the last post:
"...Life can be found only in the present moment. The past is gone, the future is not yet here, and if we do not go back to ourselves in the present moment, we cannot be in touch with life. ..."
It takes immense practice and perseverance, but we must go there and live it completely or slide backwards into depression, angst, conflict, negating the best parts of ourselves and others. Dogs help a lot.
Knowing it will only worsen out there just means we have to try harder.
A thousand thank yous. Your insight makes our position easier to keep in mind/heart.
Here we go:
Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next.
Amen. --Reinhold Niebuhr
From Clean and Sober Not Dead
Archdruid has a new post up from the 13th that is quite good. Concerns about the denial of reality.
We are being overwhelmed daily by revelations and bizarre antics of those in charge of everything. The only area they don't seem to have control over is our internal thinking and peace of mind and that is under constant assault.
The "new normal" on a gross scale changes daily. Of course that is nothing new. I remember my grandfather in the 50's expressing much the same concept. One of the problems I find distressing is that the younger folks consider our present situation as "normal" since they do not have the perspective of 50 years or more to draw on.
When a society/culture/civilization refuses or is unable to comprehend changes in the context/comparison of of what has been before, we are in for a rough ride. When a society as a whole decides to allow/gives permission to others to have authority over our lives, we are consequently degraded even further. This produces a cognitive dissonance that has has negative dividends. We must intuitively know that the "growth or die" paradigm is contra reality. But we continually delude ourselves on it's validity.
This will not end well.
Just seeing the title of your offering filled me with joy, knowing that once again we would journey with you to the heart of the matter. There's just no place quite like here.
That wall from the core of the earth to beyond the space station may be immovable, but seems like we pass back and forth through it daily. 'Out there', I encounter quite a few nods, gestures, smiles, all signaling/expressing "exponential compassion" and a shared knowing that we don't really have to be blatant in our spitting on the bullshit 'new normal', nor do we even have to take the trouble to define how ugly and degraded it is.
The predators have always underestimated our resilience and try to make us believe like them too. But, through our suffering, our connections to the real, the natural, have been made un-breakable in some long-term sense. There are tried and true ways to break those cycles of addiction even, being done in some of the most unlikely places (on the rez!).
And yes, dogs help (cats, and other 4-leggeds too).
Love the new paintings, and Fritz too!

Thank you very much for bringing that up, Murph, I was reading JM Greer last night.
" ... To understand that parting of the ways, it’s important to get a good clear sense of how self-deception works. I suspect most of my readers have had the experience of arguing themselves into believing, at least for a short time, something that they knew was not true. It’s a fascinating study in the corruption of the intellect. To start with, much more often than not, questions of the truth of the belief in question are ignored or actively evaded; what matters is that accepting the false belief will bring practical benefits ..."
I used to think a mere handful of us were on the same page, needless to say, that is not the case anymore. You might be interested in Arthur Silber's observations on Hitler's rise to power, which is, as Greer suggests in his Parting of the Ways concerning vehement denial as proof of allegiance, contrasted simultaneously with the extreme crimes committed against humanity happening under Hitler and allowed to fester into rebirth elsewhere - because proving allegiance to false belief benefited the citizens. (I said as much our current post "...their own fairy tales prevent them from alleviating their misery. It is also true that suffering can become an identity carrying short-lived benefits for the sufferer on which he or she develops habitual attachment. ...")
Reflections on a Bestial Culture (IV): Ordinary Horrors, Everyday Murders
... If most Germans reacted at all to the stories in the 1930s, it was with indifference or approving support. Most Americans react to a prominent story about the institutionalized murder of innocent human beings in the same way. ...
Certainly, as the divide widens further, we will see increasing numbers swearing their mantra of absurd denial out of sheer hope allegiance to false belief will SAVE them.
This is a ruinous state for any social structure to have to experience in that long held false belief, once that belief is fully exposed as worthless, indulgent and shown to be increasing the odds whatever initial problems there were requiring solutions, such solutions will never be found, has disastrous consequence for the entire community at large.
This is also the fundamental message in Chinua Achebe's finest work, Things Fall Apart.
Amazon's description: Things Fall Apart tells two intertwining stories, both centering on Okonkwo, a “strong man” of an Ibo village in Nigeria. The first, a powerful fable of the immemorial conflict between the individual and society, traces Okonkwo’s fall from grace with the tribal world. The second, as modern as the first is ancient, concerns the clash of cultures and the destruction of Okonkwo's world with the arrival of aggressive European missionaries. These perfectly harmonized twin dramas are informed by an awareness capable of encompassing at once the life of nature, human history, and the mysterious compulsions of the soul.
If I'd reviewed Mr. Achebe's book I would have said proof of allegiance is the foolish attempt to immunize oneself against the inevitable.
Nina,
Wow, what a comment. I read the link you titled "Reflections on a Bestial Culture". It gives even more detailed similarities/parallels with our present situation than I had suspected.
It appears more and more to me that the PTB are stepping up their propaganda to spread fractional-ism among our population. I suspect that it is going to get real dicey real soon.
Now the question comes up of what a person that realizes that this is happening is to do. Are we brave enough to draw a line in the sand? Or do we go along to be able to preserve our lives and living standard? Are we brave enough to say that this shit I will not eat? A tough call eh?
Nina, we went to this place today and I think you would have really enjoyed it too. If you go to the website, click on " collection ", then " artist ", and if you put the cursor on the artist name you can see a representation of thier works:

Well Murph, that IS the question and try as hard as we might, the answer evades us as long as we remain engaged. What is happening has been long coming on, you might have noticed those who venture to seriously address it are not actually present, they remain "voices from afar", or as in some cases, weakened, ailing souls with little left to lose fully lacking in economic power. Without them, we'd be even more in the dark than we already are.
Another aspect of the "situation" is the election campaign fraud taking place. Media only now reveals what has been happening behind the facade of breaking news because it has obviously been agreed the movement requires a new face, world class wealth, less personality, more demonstrative activities, greater opacity.
Surely you saw Charles' essay on safe havens for foreign wealth? Safe Haven: Could U.S. Markets Rally in a Global Decoupling? This inadvertently tells us its all about bringing home the dough. And that, IMO, is a very sorry state of affairs when the entire value of humanity is based on cash return.
Our own disengagement is the only way any positive change can occur. I liken our position to Bholanath's description of passing back and forth through the walls. They exist - and - we are not required to participate in continuous self defeat or take action of any sort other than improving our relationships with others and steering clear of frustration.
Hello Nina.....improving our relationships with others and staying clear of frustration....these are good intentions...... cruelty and bitterness are natural responses to being treated badly....however the path of love is not the path of comfort. It means going forward into the unknown, with no guarantees of safety, even though your afraid. Trusting is dangerous, but without trust there is no hope for love, and love is all we ever have to hold against the dark....Love is worth nothing until it has been tested by its own defeat.....Creina Alcock is a South African women who, through a lifetime of betrayal and hardship on the African veldt, has earned the right to be bitter...
We can only be responsible for ourselves, the age we live in makes that abundantly clear. Only you can make you happy.
Still one of my favs ....
Sometime around 23 hundred years ago we see in the Mahabharata Ydhishthira has a vision of the age to come: I see the coming of another age, where barbaric kings rule over a vicious, broken world, where puny, fearful men live tiny lives, white hair at sixteen, copulating with animals, their women perfect whores, making love with greedy mouths. The cows dry, trees stunted, no more flowers, no more purity, ambition, corruption, the age of Kali, the black time."
I remember those words on your previous blog. They always cause pause for thought.
Regarding this you wrote Nina, " we are not required to participate in continuous self defeat ". I do consider it worthwhile to keep myself informed of the developments of our quickly evolving world situation, at least to the extent that is reasonably possible while keeping a sense of balance with all of the other important aspects of my life.
Some feel its worthy/necesary to endlessly self flagellate themselves with all the ills of our time, seeing this exercise as their unavoidable and actually required " punishment " for existing in times vexed with a cornucopia of human harshness and evils.
So is constantly beating yourself up with the wrongs of this world the point of living/being, because you know that choosen path is endless as an endeavor. If that were so no human should ever deserve to be content. You could wallow in despair, hate, angst, apathy, etc forever because the sad story we see unfolding for humanity has been the fate of people before us ( to one extent or another ), and will be the case after we move on.
Some some will decide that they can never be content, because there are so many troubles in the world. It is there fate/destiny to swim in malaise all their days.
But then the way I see it, each day offers us a new opportunity to do something. Being aware allows for you to better chart your course ahead, but to proceed with this information, you must set sail, and proceed with the myriad task of all those things that are possible for you to achieve.
Each person will have to decide what this is depending on the unique circumstances of their situation. Along with this, in the vast landscape of existance, there are things we will never, ever, change, no matter how much you may choose to whip yourself.
So with the time you have left in this life, set about accomplishing what you can or more importantly " will " do. The Tornado of Doom will alway be spinning, producing its mayhem, but setting up residence in it is not benificial and is actually very destructive. It is not the path towards postive change on whatever scale that may be.
Terrance -
That quote from Creina Alcock is superb, giving thanks, and for turning me on to some of her story. Exactly what I needed to hear today.
And likewise appreciating the words of HSW's latest. When one door is closed, many more will open.
What a tribe! Best of the best.

The spirits of the earth are in physical form to expand their consciousness, to learn what is good and what is diabolical and self destructive. It is all what you make of it. What ever is happening around you try and be a force of understanding.
This is a very beautiful planet but it is being destroyed. That having been said it is a very low level vibrational planet in the scheme of things. I am very sure there exists those of a much higher vibration as well as those of a much lower vibration. Which ones are we gravitating towards is the big question. Do we even need planets for that matter? All finite matter is destined to change forms, All things infinite and of the spirit is forever, immortal.
We are moving towards a time of unimaginable suffering so say the Mayans and I happen to agree with them. The earth will be fine in the in the long term when the demonic forces manage to destroy themselves here and most life forms. The earth will cleanse herself and begin anew. The Nefilim can decide to once again bring human DNA to the planet if they so desire. Here is hoping they are more selective next time around. Yes there are beings out there far advanced than us who have realized that at times planets self destruct, become uninhabitable and have developed the technology to move about.
I believe they will be as this planet is headed toward the center of the milky way which holds unimaginable possibilities. It doesn't even have to offer the promise of physical reality. We are not physical beings, we are spiritual beings.
We have been promised by many great beings that a great light will come, hold fast and stay the course even though things may seem a bit complicated at present.
When you feel you need a spiritual injection there is always what was left to us by one of the giants!

He is unmatched! In his writings it is clear he had found the source as a shaken Kahlil told those close to him the spirit said to him, you are the son of man.

NO-THINKING IS THE DOOR. No-word is the
gate. No-mind is the way.
How to achieve this? What will you do to
achieve this? Just listening to it won't help,
because mind is so clever. The mind will start
thinking about this, what Sosan is saying; the
mind will start thinking and spinning theories
around it.
The mind will say, "Yes, it seems right." But the
mind will say, "It seems right," and you have
gone astray. The mind will say, "No, it seems
difficult, impossible. How can you stop
thinking?" and you have gone astray.
Listen to the mind and you are never near the

Blo and Cap'n S, Thank You :-)
Nina, my family and I had a chance to meet with Randy ( Trout Clan contributor ) and his wife this evening in Salt Lake City. Colleen is an artist and you might like to check out her paintings:

Ahhh, that would be Bho, not Blo, sorry :-)
Heh, I read it as Bio.
You met Randy? Oh you lucky duck! Is he as forthright in person as he appears in his comments?
You are reminding me to link to you and Ms. Reynolds in the Gallery. Excuse me while I jump around the 'springs.... just beautiful Mr. Wizzy.
Nina, It was a real pleasure meeting Randy and his wife. We had a meal together, then they invited us over to their home afterwards for some more visiting. Randy seems to me to be a very grounded person and comes across as being quite aware, focused and considerate in his demeanor.
The conversation was quite enjoyable since we are of the same mind on much of what is unfolding in our time. It was interesting to hear about alot of his past life experiences and travels. Wish we would have had more time but he and his wife had work the next day so we did not want to keep them up to late.
The timing was perfect as Randy called us just after we finished visiting another friend in Layton, just north of Salt Lake City. Our lodgings for the evening ended up being just 15 minutes or so from where they live. They are good people and it was fun to meet them :-)
Originally there was nothing. It is to nothing that we return.
Differentiation came out of the interplay of cosmic opposites. Human
life became mired in complexities, and this constant diversity is
stressful and disruptive. We ourselves add to the problem with our own
lusts and ambitions. We intoxicate ourselves, we indulge in sensual
gratification, we strive for success in our careers, we commit decades
to the raising of children. All this, only to be caught in the closing
jaws of old age, gradually hemmed in until there is no alternative other
than sorrows, infirmities, and senility.
Duty is inevitable, but we need not saddle ourselves with extra
responsibilities. Keep life simple. Give up as much as possible.
Renounce unnecessary cravings and desires. Leave behind the trappings of
wealth and success. Turn toward the divine. It satisfies, it brings
knowledge, and it brings joy.
Martin Prechtel is one of the most eloquent and beautiful voices for life and our earth of our generation. Somehow I missed his February interview, but it can be accessed HERE. He only does radio once a year on Caroline Casey's Visionary Activist show, for certain reasons which he has explained to me.
His book Stealing Benefacio's Roses was one of the most resonant books of my life. His newly published book is entitled The Unlikely Peace at Cuchumaquic: The Parallel Lives of People as Plants: Keeping the Seeds Alive. (Haven't read it yet, but when my check arrives...)
"MartĆn Prechtel’s experiences growing up on a Pueblo Indian reservation, his years of apprenticing to a Guatemalan shaman, and his return to the U.S. after fleeing from Guatemala’s brutal civil war inform this lyrical blend of memoir, indigenous wisdom, and spiritual call to arms. The Unlikely Peace at Cuchumaquic is both an epic story and a cry to the heart of humanity to keep alive the seeds of our “original forgotten spiritual excellence.”

Nice Bho.
Those mountains in your new photo Nina look like the beautiful ones to the west of Vegas, just south of the Red Rock area. I remember one brilliant morning when I was camping just below and east of the biggest mountain seen in the foreground, the one with the red band through it.
I was on my way home from a two week solo trip around the western states, along with two pooches I had at the time ( back in the 80,s ) as my traveling companions. I got in to the camp area when it was nearly dark. In the morning I awoke in the back of my truck to the spendor of the mornings golden light against those mountains.
I had a bit of THC for breakfast, then listened to this:

....while enjoying that majestic scenery. It was a mesmerizing morning that holds a special place in my memories of long ago. The particular song on that CD called Nostalgia sticks in my mind, being the epitome of the ambience felt within :-)
And here is a photo my good friend took of me and the family a couple of days ago up in Salt Lake City, Utah. Good times with those you love, surely one of the most important aspects of our lives :-)

Beautiful Pic as the header. Thanks for making my morning Nina.

Thank you, Gentlemen.
We note Mr. Wizard knows his highlights well.
"Those mountains in your new photo Nina look like the beautiful ones to the west of Vegas, just south of the Red Rock area."
They have summer theater there now. I've been and loved it. The patrons and the organization are in partnership to remain conscious of the delicate environment. There was a mass blanket/folding-lawn chair BYO picnic preceding the show. The crowd was heavily multiracial, all ages present, well-educated, appreciative supporters of the arts. I'll put photos up in the gallery soon.
It doesn't get dark there this time of year until after 8pm. Between the glinting sun and the happy people, under the backdrop of such majestic scenery, for that time, everything was right and the world disappeared.
The mountains are happy to be cared for so well, amused and entertained. Around 8 pm, they put on their own light show.
I could just live there. It is a place you know you are exactly where you should be and all previous events have conspired to place you right there just at that moment.
I also saw that photo Wizzy, on TCC earlier. Many things show up in this photo that puts a lie to the media spawned plague of paranoia, fear of strangers, fear of love, panic and brutality as a life-ring.
The photographer appears to be very sympathetic to the scene.
The ten thousand things rise and fall

And though the body passes away,
the Tao will never pass away.

Always appreciate your offerings Scrap, insights extolling the virtues of simplicity, a guiding theme/path of living I know we both value :-)
Nina, I completely agree with your expressed sentiments about those amazing mountains. Its a place that surely wraps one in a special sphere of magic :-)
I met my friend ( who took that photo of me and the family ) many years ago at Deep Creek Hot Springs. He has a very nice camera these days, about $3,000 counting the lens. He loves taking photos and has been capturing some very nice images of his many activities. He is certainly a thoughtful and considerate soul, a person who has so many admiral qualities of character :-)
I'll be putting up more pics from our Yellowstone Trip at my Flickr site as I get the time to do it. So much jaw dropping scenery in that area. Its certainly a photographers paradise :-)
Hey, anyone know the whereabouts of Andre Heath? His webwsites for both his graphic arts design business in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and his site Celestial Convergence, have been removed on blogger.
That is strange FA. The name of his site is not available for anyone else to use which generally means HE took his sites down and he has a 30 day grace period to reconsider if he so desires.
Although, a few years back, both my sites vanished overnight, but I found the mechanism to put them back the next morning. If Mr. Heath has not yet put them back, then he does not want them to appear.
Sounds personal to me. "Personal" has so many implications: depression, loss, persecution, only he would know. BTW, there is no obituary, so don't even go there. However, the part that is a real mystery is removing the business site.
Paging Ras Turey... come in, come in....
Yes Missis, was going to say that my bush telegraph is down for the moment. A call to the Ja telephone operator with his name in Ochie may give a result.
Few months ago it was watch for crocs, now it's don't feed the bears. Animals come straight, we be food. Us higher? ones are more challenging to figure.
Ites, turey.
Good idea. You think he's listed? And if he is not listed, his various relatives will be. Although, tracking him down through relations is pretty intrusive. We still have morals even if the dictatorship does not.
And I must say, Rasta, you made an excellent point regarding just who are and are not the heavyweights of the species. It seems that Wetikos have no better plan to handle their insufficiency other than stick the strong into cages or kill 'em off through various globewide trophy tortures. Claaaaat
