DEEP INTO ARTLIFE WEST

You say you want a revolution

"You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out ..."

John Lennon

If war was outlawed, which in the truth of Jah Almighty it is, there would be no crime.  There would be no atrocities, no theft, no empire, no demand for more, no false growth, no need to be larger than we are for we are merely animals in costumes playing games with evil since civilian direction comes not from higher authority in these matters, but from the cesspools of conflict, consumption and selfishness.

Look where we are now as a species, paranoid and presumptuous, having completely lost our way, unable to act without acting irrationally, unable to make the connections required to achieve any goal to help the greater good prevail. As long as we war, we are locked into self defeat.  Every issue, problem, disaster, argument is solvable, easily by taking the high road which our authorities (not mine, not yours, but those of the directionless ego driven self-spawned celebrity leaders and their investors) refuse to recognize as the only road to real growth and salvation of the human being.  Just because we were born into it is no justification, just because history states these things as always having gone on, is again no excuse it continue now.  We are at the bottom sinking deeper, there is no end in sight to the problems of men and still the grand illusion prevails as the only way forward.  The joke of life is that no one ever states the obvious, much less lives it since six billion and ninety nine million human animals fear losing the miniscule portion of whatever is left them after they've lost seemingly everything that mattered.

If you missed this comment from Scrapwood last week, please force yourself to absorb it now, it lies at the heart of our existence.
We are, like all things, just fleeting forms already on our way to somewhere else. Poised between black despair and exquisite beauty, ours is a geologic perspective, a vision of the human cast against the elemental sweep of the universe.  As in Tu Fu's most famous line: "the nation falls into ruins: rivers and mountains continue."
We all share the exile in a wilderness cosmology of relentless transformation.

I cannot recall a more sickening item online than the relentless mainstream media link to a frame-by-frame video of Qaddafi's sodomization.  It was up for days, I refused the invite, holding back my revulsion simply from the vision as puke rose in the esophagus and wondered who in their right mind would click to view it.  Is this what entertains my brothers and sisters now?  Who among you salivates at seeing the sword draw blood from the anus of another person?  My God!  After what the human race has done to this man, even if it was his double, the unmarked grave, the total lack of celebration of a life, the pro-lifers in the candidate's seat swearing life begins at conception, utterly lacking in compassion for lives currently in existence as if every man and woman other than the speaker is an immediate threat.  And as if that wasn't enough, hour by hour every single day, the crime on the ground fully emulates the enuring of our species.  No matter where you are, lock down your life, danger lurks.  Seal yourself from the others, their intention is always evil.  You would think serial killing home invaders are calling the shots and for all we know, that could well be the case.  Actually, I can't think of a better description of bigshots busying themselves dreaming of newer and ever-slimier activities.

Now the world is imploding because their economies are in failure, I ask you, what did you expect from an illusion?  Don't tell me you bought into the fantasy of unlimited growth.  If we are living on a finite planet, with finite resources, for a finite period of say eighty or so years, the entire concept of infinity is meaningless.  There is only one infinity and that is the infinity of the Creator. The rest is gibberish, a massive con.  Something to do while we breathe in, breathe out.  Unfortunately it is a con that is woven from potentially indestructible complexities and doomed to persist until everyone is converted or dead or beaten down never to rise again to expose at last the impossibility of existence in any other medium other than that of impossibly infinite growth.  All this worsens in the face of climate chaos.  Nothing, not even God, stands in the way, in fact, climate payback empowers greater heights of spectacular hustles as if secretly, in the black heart of the pusher, time is of the essence.  Oh, they know.  Grab it all while the getting is good because soon enough somebody else will.

It all translates down the ranks into the unconscious mind of the little man just doing his best to get along until one day he is sick and tired of losing and acts on his own or more likely shovels the scheme onto his offspring that this IS how the world works and you'd better put in your two cents or you too shall lose.  So we have the strangest deviations in civilian life no normal person could imagine.  All the little powerless egos climbing on the bandwagon wearing badges of full faith in the religions of hatred of their fellows.  Among the greatest of distortions is the distortion that fawning over atrocity is somehow evidence of Godly prowess.

There is no need for me to go into how this came about, it is simply a matter of selfish creature comfort taken to grotesque extremes, the python swallows the deer because he is hungry and has no idea what he is doing other than satisfying his urge. By this time, this time in the evolution of the human being animal, the spiteful power hungry have utterly lost any ability to relate to God and that is also not a surprise since the churches they attend reflect back to them the righteousness of their falsity.  That war and war crimes are good and holy even, that economic superiority is necessary for the enrichment of their dogma and since the system as it presently exists  is a supposedly established fact of life not to be questioned ever, but supported by aligning with the massive press of vainglorious authority for limitless expansion of more and greater deceit.

You could think, in these times, they've won.  You could think you must escape, that where this leads is truly not for you, you could think all is lost and contemplate leaving for good by any means possible.  If this is where you find yourself, I want to remind you that your very presence on Earth is a thorn on their rosebush.  As long as you live, your existence is that which cannot be overcome.  You stand in the way of the more they have in mind.  I suggest you stick around as perhaps one of the few who see them for what they are and see through what they do, they are shallow, small creatures and  do not have the ability to experience love that you do.  Let your own life stand for that which they can never achieve.  They can wreck everything, but not your personal heart and soul.  In this way, they will never win.  If they have not won you, they have already lost whatever wars they think they are fighting.  That is the real revolution to work towards and it is entirely possible, everything else is open to political debate, scams, taking away, taking apart, atrocity, annihilation. There is an easier way, evolve yourself into your own sanctity.  Make yourself the example of what you want a revolution to accomplish.  Back off from common compromise which will always end up shoveling you back into the morass of evil and cherish your ability to feel compassion and love in all its sweet simplicity and bountiful, infinite rewards.

I have finally gotten around to reading Journey to Ixtlan, the Lessons of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda.  Better late than never. The line which applies here is from Don Juan's observation "Everybody thinks someone is doing something to them. But no one is really doing anything to anyone."  We have to suppose that a huge majority willingly, consistenly, allows themselves to become pythons thinking pythons always triumph, let's go along with them to the bitter end.  The problem with that is once the belly is satisfied it always craves more unless you personally reach for a higher relationship.  It is up to us to to make that reach.  Once you make it, you'll wonder why you didn't make it sooner.  The timing doesn't matter, the reach alone matters.  Being here matters. We were freely given a present of life, let's look further inside the box. There is a lot of good stuff in there we've cast aside because a fleeting authority of the moment decreed we look to them instead for our sustenance.

Indeed, I saw the video of Ghadaffi presented, but I did not click to watch it. This was a heinous crime and the thought of it makes me want to puke too.

I bet Hillary Clinton has it on instant replay.

If war and violence is the best we can do as a species, then there is no hope for us, ever.

Lee, it makes me sad that you saw that link too, you must have been made as uncomfortable and angry as I was. On the other hand, I appreciate you confirming it was not my imagination. The hands down truth is we would never imagine such things.

We have been naive. I fear we will shortly hear much more along those lines since rape is the poor man's weapon of choice. The doors to the continent of famine and abject penury are wide open now.

Thank you too for letting me know how you feel.

Thank you so much. Maybe the most powerful expression of Jah Almighty's truth ever read anywhere.
Especially the 'reminder' and 'suggestion' to 'stick around', because of the immense power of the opposite suggestion beamed at us all, on all frequencies of the temporal spectrum.

I have to admit that that 'revolution' song gave me a sick feeling when first heard in '68 on Radio Luxemburg while hitching through Yugoslavia on route to India. I've never had anything against Shiva's or KaliMa's "destruction", nor the destruction of imaginary "property", and none of my hundreds of brethren in the struggles of the time cared two shits for Chairman Mao, nor were they 'friendless' or whatever. It was just more evidence of the 'end of an era', a magic moment.
Nevertheless, we are also in a magic moment again, and have lived to see some things come full circle, and some human animals have not "lost our way" despite the majority clinging to their "excuses".
There IS you, and Scrap, and many others who DO state the obvious, thanks and praises.

Thanks RW, I certainly will. As a rule I read an author's entire body of work back to back while simultaneously sandwiching in selections from Norton anthologies. Thanks very much for the recommendation.

This bring me to Bholanath's comment. Bho, I have searched everywhere online for David Rains Wallace's The Mind of a Beaver (an anthology selection) for you with no luck. You should read it if at all possible and keep a copy at the Wildlife Center. Its "naturalist" writing which means it is not scientific, it is unbiased observation from an astute heart.
About your comment, I blush, but we know the basic premise to be valid. I love hearing about your travels and the brilliance you made of your youth - and to this day where you are still being your own most brilliant example.

Aang, I am still delighted you manage to not only read, but comment too taking time away from your research and presentations. I hope you get enough sleep and when you do, it is long and restful.

I remember that my patience with Carlos expired during or after reading the 'Journey To Ixtlan'. This was back in the day. Too many unresolved time/space concepts (it takes me a month at least just to adjust to daylight savings time...every year!). Yes, a real dilemma ensued. I couldn't decide if this was a good writer telling a bullshit story, or if this was a bullshit writer telling a good story. In any case, from reading 'The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge' I did learn to keep my eyes on the ground in front of me. This lesson served me well during a twelve year stint in the high desert of our southwest. Except I remember one time while flying a kite I managed to kick a prickly pear. Have you ever kicked a prickly pear with flip-flops on? They can be remarkably covert. It's not often that they wear a bright yellow flower on a lobe.

nina said...

Hi John, I know exactly what you mean about this guy's writing skills, but I must compliment CC on his patience with the Boss. I'm reading this book in paperback with an unnecessarily huge font which adds to the childishness. I just go along with the leaps in reality because some of it is really very neat. That Don Juan is so cognizant of the Forces is pleasing. Looking forward to the whole series.

Isn't daylight savings over this coming Sunday?

Our fellow men are black magicians. And whoever is with them is a black magician on the spot. Think for a moment. Can you deviate from the path that your fellow men have lined up for you? And if you remain with them, your thoughts and your actions are fixed forever in their terms. That is slavery. The warrior, on the other hand, is free from all that. Freedom is expensive, but the price is not impossible to pay. So, fear your captors, your masters. Don't waste your time and your power fearing freedom.

Tales of Power

When a warrior learns to stop the internal dialogue, everything becomes possible; the most far-fetched schemes become attainable.

Fine knowledge for those who actually use it....takes courage to fully live...Thank you Nina

Well Nina, there seems to be a fairly convoluted history to the rationale of DST. It's been justified by way of some mixture of efficiency and convenience. Apparently, the father of modern DST, G.V.Hudson, wanted more after-work daylight hours so that he could collect insects. Here in Italy it ended on October 30, but the date does change from some counties to others. In Afghanistan they don't observe it. Nor in Arizona, except in the Navaho Nation part where they do.

Excuse the trivial pursuit and remember to set your clocks back.

P.S. Another thing regarding the Castaneda works...I also remember that at a certain point I decided that I had been targeted...you know, white, college age, probably experimenting with psychotropic substances...well, I felt impinged upon.

I didnt see the link - so glad too - i was blissfully unaware that this had happened. but human darkness know no boundary. Ive already gone to the rivers and mountains - smartest thing I ever did. and when I return to the ATL i am always shocked at the pinched edgy faces -the hostility and incivility on the roads. But then again - my sweet old lady neighbor across the street shines line a sun of love on me too. What can I say? nothing that could ever fully compliment what you write Nina. From the day I followed you home I knew you were the voice put to my intuition. as always, I thank you.

The sodomizing of Gaddafi has to be the low point of the West's foreign policy. Hilary smirking and laughing about his death demonstrated what a demon she has become. I suppose that it was all the more shocking because he was a head of state and, supposedly, the richest man in the world. One would think that it must have given other rich criminals/leaders pause. I keep remembering that rape is a tactic in many wars. What is different is viewing it in public, as if it were a video game.
Perhaps in bringing it out into the open, we will eventually be encouraged to deal with the dark side of ourselves as a whole. That video of the judge beating his sixteen year old daughter for downloading music was another open look at domestic violence that is familiar to many, but not normally in view. Which way will it go? Are we just going to "get used to it" or figure out a way to heal it? I don't know.

"Make yourself the example of what you want a revolution to accomplish." That's the best advise to me, Nina. And the closer one comes to accomplishing the goal, the better it feels.
And the better it feels, the more compelling it is.

Good words.

Hotspringswizard said...

Regarding that judge beating his daughter, thats exactly what my dad used to do regularly to me and my brother while we were growing up. He would use what ever was handy, belt, switch, his hand etc. He would beat us many times up stairs in our room while my mom was crying and imploring him to stop from downstairs. I remember one time when he beat me severly when I was around 8 for sitting in the Ivy out front of our house and making faces at the passing cars. A big part this behavior by him was related to his long term alcololism.

My wife and I were watching that video of the judge last night and it brought back the bad memories of just how harsh my dad was. My mom cries even now at any mention of those things, those times. I don't blame her as my dad was 6 foot six inches tall, and really a strong brute when he was drinking. Falls on deaf ears with me hearing the judges verbalized justification, excuses for beating his daughter.

So many great comments to address, I have to start with HSW since your stories are not unfamiliar. I'd go into all the grisly details, but both my parents are gone now and I prefer to remember the good parts. However, I would say HSW, you probably experienced the worst with Alcoholism in the driver's seat. I should think we've all had the opportunity to change the pattern by now and that is the most wonderful thing that has come around perhaps in the entirety of our lifetimes. The scars can never be fully healed though, the pattern of self abuse is one which must be attended to with insight and compassion probably a lot more frequently than we care to admit. The way I always see it is the pattern stops with us.

nina said...

Terrance, I see you learned your Don Juan lessons well! When I first got into Castaneda, I had some difficulty grasping all the "warrior" talk, but as it goes on, it appears to be a fine description for fighting all the various battles within.
And I do agree, so much precious time gets lost fearing freedom. And now, we have whole generations coming along who without compassionate guidance are going to waste it even more.

Your intuition is right on - in every way, I am sure. Besides, you would not have been reading Orlav if you hadn't already seen reality in all its spectral horror and glory.

Merci and gracias

Interesting thing FA, I had you in mind when I wrote that. For real.

I think this is all going to slow down, or at least make a heavy dent, with us. If nothing else, OWS tells us that. They are furious. I'm sure you've already heard about the Oakland demonstrations. But where will it go from there? One thing is for sure, the younger people are voting age and they are not in any mood to tolerate the Rick Perrys of this country. On the other hand, OWS is still a minority. Therefore, I stand behind the original statement on being our own examples and what a fine one you remain.

"no one is really doing anything to any one". Maybe, for those that cannot avoid the strange, and must try to get good at it, there are layers to this that don't get published in books, without blowback from the other ones who try to manage this, one way or the other.

Yes, some have the street cred, and have died throughout various games with the others. Those screams and shouts are in private, never shared. Don Juan, the rest, you would not think the training involved was anything but life, if you had not been invited, and decided that was worth it. Try War with a black magician, and jumping, and getting the torn up parts to knit. Or not, just read about it. It would be amazing where one would land, not exactly in the head, mostly everywhere else, for those that lived to tell about it. It makes the stuff out here hard to understand, or share, but that is what we do, or just this one, for now.

The function of diversion is simply to anesthetize the individual as individual, and to plunge him in the warm, apathetic stupor of a collectivity which, like himself, wishes to remain amused. The bread and circuses which fulfil this function may be blatant and absurd, or they may assume a hypocritical air of intense seriousness.

Our own society prefers the absurd. But our absurdity is blended with a certain hard-headed, fully determined seriousness with which we devote ourselves to the acquisition of money, to the satisfaction of our appetite for status, and the justification of ourselves as contrasted with the totalitarian iniquity of our opposite number.

On several occasions I have been in a situation like this with little children: I moved round a corner and saw a little boy-child in a shopping cart his mother nearby. I'm very big and not fat, bandido mustache. When he saw me he instantly looked down and changed his posture. First glimmers of fear. I kept looking at him while waving my hand and smiling. He finally looked up and the smile on his face! It was like being kicked in the solar plexus. Pure love which I can only experience for a short time or I cry. These little ones are coming from a place of intense love, they wave a torch of love and if they are hurt the abusers will arrive at Hades after a first class trip - so entering therein they have the residue of materialism in their mouths. Pleasse enjoy that last taste.
