Anyone still confused at this late stage? On a personal level, as metaphor, we live our lives in a series of situations, for the most part, floating through the days and hours as if there is no ending. There are always things to do and be done, the incredible variety of living species in our situations that require attention, and often there are little jams to be unraveled, which we unravel and continue on with our journeys. In other words, we're coping, as best we know how at any given time ... until something like these times comes into focus and digs its way into our minds as a bad cloud. No matter what happens, the bad cloud is carried within. Every now and then it rolls itself into a hurricane or tornado and whatever else is going on within has to take a back seat. Lately we've found ourselves unwittingly embroiled in bullying bs boiling over in the very kitchens of the bad cloud's panic promotional. Ages ago I put up a line from the original film Wall Street where Bud Fox's Dad says to him "A man lives long enough, he sees everything."
And yet, what we are seeing is part and parcel of events that have been years in the making. As we grew up, there were plenty of signs and omens, generally misinterpreted as if such "very fine people" couldn't possibly be behind the growing evil. Here's one thing I know, which I learned early. Very fine people do not wear white ties. Tacky, tacky, tacky. You can imagine my utter dismay every time one of these very fine people makes some televised, i.e.; visual, statement about anything going on in the bad cloud and how really, really, its a good cloud, while adorned in absolutely fatal fashion statements. You may think I am kidding, but I am serious. Only factual, dyed-in-the-wool handmaidens to the Devil himself, slimeball Mobsters wear white ties, or pink, or yellow or anything bordering on pastels. Have you ever looked at those ties on camera? Dancing pixels sending bizarre rays into your pupils. You will note, they appear to possess a dress code as well as common purpose among them. Their fawning grocery clerks, errand boys/girls and celebrity punditry adopt all of it to better drive home the Mission. Personally, I got out of that car a long time ago. I'm not sure exactly what it was, it might have been the pastel neck-wear. it might have been the always misfit trying to fit in all the wrong places with all the wrong people. It might have been a particular hallucination where peaking, suddenly everyone grew very small, something like looking through a telescope backwards, crystal clear, everything was the same so I perceived, except the amazingly sharp reduction of everyone and everything within view. I might not have come back from that had it not been for a rescue to another artist's hideaway except he was one of these artists who liked to grind a subject into its abstract which can be done if you work at it long enough, a stage which he had not yet reached still being a literalist making O's in primaries. His studio aka free room in the squatter's commune was painted with every color and size circle the way you'd roll whole walls and ceiling in soft white, right down to the floor, the fabrics, the fireplace and so on. My problem was they were all spinning like wild crayola cheerios blown from a cannon which created a kind of whirling nausea and yearning for the outdoors, for something real, Nature and its comfort which eventually I found crawling downstairs, to the door, to freedom in the anonymity of city streets, one foot and the next until I led myself to green pastures lying down with wildflowers in the meadow watching clouds move, meet and move again, they were good clouds. I looked sideways long enough to see friends join in. It seemed we lay there centuries. We might have.
I'm still not sure of any tipping point where it all gelled. Not a day, lately an hour, passes without some intrusive nonsense like the "jobless recovery". As much as I would love to be done with it, it smarts. While today we might find we are not affected, surely tomorrow we will be? We have all been affected, perhaps not all at one time, but we would not allow bad clouds the opportunity to linger, even distantly, if we were not personally familiar with the extremes of pain they are capable of producing. We remember a moment in time, we have memories of disaster, we have had our hopes and expectations dashed to smithereens, we have lost loved ones, we have seen others lose everything and lost too much ourselves along the way. We believe in redemption, we trust in resurrection even without visual confirmation we have confidence in the goodness of living, that it is holy, that life itself is holy and that interior perfection of every living being is all the proof necessary and nothing can take that perfection away.
Do yourself a huge favor and read these links, if you have not already, in any order, order hardly matters, although I realize I have implied some order, it won't take up all that much of your time since you are already online reading, here are a few things to absorb that should stick, I know, so little sticks anymore, but give it a try:
From Mick:
The Handbook of Human Ownership for New Tax Farmers
From Vivek:
Hey America ...
From James Kunstler's CN comments:
The Great Global Debt Depression: Its All Greek to Me
From Paul Craig Roberts:
An Economy Destroyed
Done yet? Go and finish them now, at least one of them, I'm not going anywhere and I know the last two are particularly lengthy, but important! If you get fidgety, a typically addicted to convenience and/or chaos-driven western citizens' trait, just read the last one first (backwards is a great way to go since front is back and back is front now) all the way through and return later as you carve out space in your offline Word calendar for sincere acknowledgement of self through definition of the Apocalyptic experience in which we all share, like it or not ... or just make a Sticky Note for your monitor.
Let's get down to business
It seems that the deficit ceiling is replacing the Casey Anthony trial, with Cantor and Boner vs. our leader. Have you ever seen Grown Men behave in this way? And these are our representatives of the peeps. Hey, put 'em in a cage match for cryin' out loud and leave us out of it. If you knew these people in real life, as neighbors or a clique at the local swimming pool, would you have ANYthing to do with them? Who uses Vitalis anymore? As usual, we are forced to ask, what else is going on that we're not hearing about. And suddenly, practically written on the wind, Norway! Last check the death toll is under one hundred, but the figure is growing and will likely be higher by sigh, tomorrow. And speaking of Wetiko wickedness, could care-less-ness, those freak outbursts I mentioned last posting and a few posts before that, are on the increase. The ignorant on the ground, probably illiterate too, due to the fact all of this "toxic waste" is widely available through every expanding format of shining electronic delivery, are bursting loose from the jobless recovery to imitate the very activities dreamed up by "very fine people". Things come and go at breakneck speed, each dive surpassing former dives into deeper and deeper, never before unexplored depths of the raging cesspool of evil. Everything about them flys red flags and nothing happens. They can wear GO OLIGARCHY tie tacks on their pale gold ties and nothing happens. They can publicly scorn each other mere inches away from hand to hand combat with lies and denials and ... nothing happens.
Way down below in the secret cache of an overstressed, oversized, over-produced population where mostly everything has gotten completely out of control because people no longer want to know what is happening around them since their entire lives have become Adventures in Narcissism 24/7, there are horrors and very difficult to describe drastic abuses of the innocent and unaware surfacing for a few hours, a day or two, before the deficit ceiling cage match blows them off the platform. Weird things like the Leiby Kletzy tragedy and the Coronado mansion double murder. When the celebrity pundit reads the teleprompter saying "Why Norway?" do you grimace at her sheer idiocy or weep for the Libyans who on another planet, one with good clouds, would be filling the bellies of the Somalis instead of under hijack at the crazed insistence of the followers of economic nirvana which is not a resilient or even remotely sustainable system... as we are reminded this week after thinking about the far reaching implications in the Archdruid's excellent essay. Even Libya has vanished from the news as if its another ho hum long term occupation in the making and we're to just go shopping or something. Its always unnerving how quickly we have these things analyzed for us since we are too dumbed down now to read the blood on the wall. How long did it take Bush to declare Bin Laden did it? How long did it take CNN to read their prepared statement claiming the little potty or the base is responsible for Norway's attacks? Fifteen minutes? An hour? And, gosh, we haven't even touched on the highly contagious cell hacking disease spreading paranoia and opening wallets across the pond, its not necessary my friends, is it. My only question while admitting I aspire to know nothing because I can't stand to know, its too disgusting, is: Where's the forensics on the guy who lay dead in the portapotty for twelve hours? In't this one like the Coronado mistress found bound and hung from a backyard balcony, in that suicide is often disguised to appear as homicide, they say. Or is that homicide is often disguised to appear as suicide? Gimme a break! We are looking at updated Wellstonings, stories for the stupid, damaged cells dividing and multiplying, exacerbating, exaggerating initial damage.
So I'm with Mick and Vivek. You will have some feelings about those links and I request we stay on subject for this post, if possible, and share them in the comments, again, if possible. If you have something else you have to say, of course that is always welcome, but for this post and those links, we'll need to talk. I've held off publishing them until now because the ubiquitous crescendo of the greedy oligarchs wrapping around the globe and destroying all life on Earth cannot be ignored or denied anymore. I should add that all the evils noted above are taking place as the Earth crumbles in anthropogenic climate chaos which must be something like living it up in an inescapable gated seaside community next door to six nuclear power plants, six months before a super quake and tsunami. In other words, its getting dangerous out there.
You do understand, don't you, its not going away. It only grows, like all living species subject to the variations of Malthusian prophecy, build it and they will come, and keep coming and coming on, until ...
On that dire precipice which appears to have no possible live landing in sight, I leave you with the best line from Vanilla Sky - "Every passing minute is a chance to turn it all around."
Within us is that power.

My cousin - whom I loved dearly - passed away today.
I found these beatiful words of yours very comforting:
"We remember a moment in time, we have memories of disaster, we have had our hopes and expectations dashed to smithereens, we have lost loved ones, we have seen others lose everything and lost too much ourselves along the way. We believe in redemption, we trust in resurrection even without visual confirmation we have confidence in the goodness of living, that it is holy, that life itself is holy and that interior perfection of every living being is all the proof necessary and nothing can take that perfection away".
Thank you.

concurs with Jim's cousin.
first, i am sorry about the cousin passing. anyone who is commenting here is family to me.
Nina, I feel like todays header image is a valentine to me. I love it -all of them really. I read PCR's piece and the one after it listing all the truths and the sources to back it up. I know it all without knowing because once you see the pattern you can never not see it again. Like that picture with the witch and the young woman. Know what I am saying? or the magic windows...where you kind of have to relax your eyes and let it enter..if you look at it too literally you cant see it? make sense? you have to let go to an entire lifetime of indoctrination in memes and constant bombardment via entertainment - news of course is entertainment.
I had a hard week and thought for about 10 minutes or so i might have to go back to ATL and get a job -oh sure. who will hire me? how much money would i have after the commute the clothes the upkeep and the xanax prescriptions i will need.
I just said no.
dublin mick on the docket for tonight and the other
funny that you linked that piece from CFN - remember I followed you home from there. I never really go there anymore - the conversation is not that good and it just makes me miss a writer like Bageant who was a real human being with some capacity for compassion unlike Kunstler who is anything but.
I found you and that was the lucky break.
Jim's Cousin, my sincere condolences. I am truly honored you found something here that brought you comfort. Let me add what my best friend said to me when my adored Father was taken down by a cheap thief wielding a ball peen hammer in the very care facility where he'd taken rooms in order to be close to my Alzheimer's stricken Mom:
"The bad new is he's gone, the good news is he's always with you now."
I have found those words to be true. (((((Hugs))))
Anon@9:02am Pacific time, thank you.
Chickory, a lucky break for me too! How often does that happen? Usually I don't read JK's comments, so many trolls, but a quick scan last Monday unearthed that link which is a textbook piece, if textbooks were the real thing. Wait, I thought you followed me home from Club Orlov? Our friendship was meant to happen no matter where we met. I'm still thinking we likely went to the same art school.
About the job in the city, those things are going to always come up since a part of us is forever seeking a way out from the disaster and only through those years of strength building self dependence, before the Mission went into 5th gear, that was indeed what we did when the going got tough. It worked for us then because it was a different world where life made sense. Its not the same place anymore. Our initial solutions only further the anxiety and remind us again and again that we're all Palestinians now.
The truck photo was only taken yesterday, begging to be the next painting. As I framed the shot, I knew you and Su would love it. I am extremely fond of the Indian Blanket over there on the left side, remember Gloriosa Rudica?
Love you.
Couple of things:
first, a photo of our Scarlet Runner beans, the pride and joy of a very lazy gardener (me):

Title is: I Dig Dirt: The Remedy for Derealization.
Nina, that wonderful truck in the banner today-- it should be moved immediately and enshrined in Winslow, AZ, next to the statue commemorating the Jackson Browne song: "There's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford..."
Glad you posted those words of comfort, Jim's cousin--we all need reminding and remembering.
The wetikos are telling lies piled upon other lies piled upon a pile of lies so high that if they were as thin as a spider's thread you could walk to the moon.
Biggest lie of July 2010; The human race did not royally fuck up the weather. Get a clue people. If you've just suffered the biggest pile of snow ever followed by the worst tornado season ever with a short break for worst flooding in 150 years before the massive, life-threatening, heat wave. It's all just Heavy Weather
EARTH—According to a statement released to the press Tuesday, the planet Earth has "just about run out of ways" to let its roughly 6.9 billion human inhabitants know it wants them all to leave.
All actual news is now delivered as comedy. All prophecy is in the form of fiction.
You sometimes wonder it the shooters are trained and triggered or are they really just random nutjobs who crack. Same result; Distraction
I can't get a job; I keep telling people the truth.
There is such a massive global surplus of labor that if everyone split the "jobs" in half we could produce all the crap we produce now and work half as much. This would be a disaster as people would spend their free time gardening, cooking, sewing, crafting and otherwise deleting the supremacy of the Corporation.
The lies will continue. A wetikos cannot help but tell lies anymore than a mockingbird cannot sing his own song or the killdeer does not have a broken wing. We are trapped like a raccoon clinging to a nut in a coke bottle. We can see the hunter walking up to us but we just can't let go.
Sorry, bad DNA, roll again. Give Binky a pat on your way out.

By the way, Chickory: first, i am sorry about the cousin passing. anyone who is commenting here is family to me.
I feel the same way.
Charles, they have a Jackson Browne statue in Winslow? but of course, its the perfect place. I'm glad to hear about this. Imagine: something refreshingly cool in bizarro world.
I can't comment on your runners until I finish a download happening right now. Guess what download?
There is no way to express my gratitude for your work and your charts. I know you have plenty of other obligations, but the insights you come out with are shattering. Its such an honor to have you in this group.
I fear the Plum tree has Leaf Curl. I'm still nurturing, as if he didn't have it.
Nina, the statue commemorates the song "Take It Easy" penned by Browne but made famous by the Eagles. As I recall, it depicts a young dude with an acoustic guitar leaning up against a lamppost:
"Well, I’m a standing on a corner
In winslow, arizona
And such a fine sight to see
It’s a girl, my lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin’ down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don’t say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
Gonna save me..."
The flatbed in your wonderful photo is a Chevy, but that's a minor detail. Here's the artwork's official site:

low on words right now but wanted to say that i really like the truck image. everything about is absolutely perfect.
aha just read your comment guessing i would like it : )
read this piece which kind of echoes Joe Bagenat http://www.fredoneverything.net/Disengagement.shtml
Nina,
Thanks for the links in this post. I have archived them for future reference. My archives are getting substantial now, really need to take the time to divide them up as per subject material.
I especially like that short paragraph on the Treaty of Tripoli about the US not founded on Christianity. That aught to throw the fundamentalists into a tizzy. lol.
SusuQ, titles of header photos and header art are available when one right clicks on the image selecting "view image", when the image shows on a new page the title can be seen in the url up there in the browser. Its always broken up with hypertext symbols, but easily decipherable.
The truck image's title is "I used to be shiny and new ..." which will be its painting's title.
It turns out the truck made the local rounds, many including the Fireteacher were offered its presence. The truck now lives as shown, a permanent sculpture, a farmer's shrine for all seasons as is only right and good. Its not Jackson Browne, but its perfect for the locals here.
Thank you for bring Fred back to me! I'd lost him in a crash and forgotten. What he says about buying a good set of speakers can be had for much, much less $ if he just parks himself on the corner in Canoga Park for a half hour or so.
Yes, he's earthy like Joe. Its always encouraging to see people who will never lose their humanity.
Murph, how do you archive links in the first place?
I probably should have said if you read nothing else read Vivek's and Mick's links.
Please apply your fine mind to Mick's link and come back with your take. I eagerly await your comment.

Pangolin, Coming back from town yesterday I counted five white horses. I'm sure at least one was Binky because he reappeared over and over making me think I had seen six and then seven.
Why can't you find another bright as hell doomer to share an RV with, far, far away from "civilized" society and just write your pants off?
The Onion piece is rather appropriate for sending around to fence sitting friends and family, isn't it? One must include your comment in the mailing ... All actual news is now delivered as comedy. All prophecy is in the form of fiction. I'm going to do it just like that.
When you tell prospective employers the truth it can never have the impact it would if they'd discovered it for themselves and are thus gravely threatened by your brilliance and independence. These times are extraordinarily threat-laden you know. Palpable discomforts are rippling through the population. You have some power here, an untested edge up on them, use it wisely.
neil, that one is your best one. Trust me, I've read it over and over by now. You are bordering on T.S. Eliot country, but with minimalist flavoring while observing what IS. I love this coming from you.
>gratitude<
GrebBEaR, thank you for bring home a point I'd tried to make two years ago which is we're going to have to sort it out and forgive/love each other if the Earth is to transition into the system it is supposed to do.
It appears an impossible feat, to forgive, but somewhere down the road it has to happen, somehow. Today, these times, I can't imagine how.
Maybe we can get there if ALL of humanity's spiritual consciousness is raised.
Thanks and welcome.
I've just revised the order of the links. This should work out better in the interest of truth. So many links, so little time ...
Do we have time for truth?
Our very own Charles's new book is available now! Please see July 2011 Bulletin on my home page @ top left, above the Free Never Overdue Library.
The power is within us indeed.
thanks nina,my poems love it over their, and as long as you keep writing posts I will keep writing poems, although sometimes they may not be on the scale of the greats and stuff and they may be a bit late aswell as I always seem to be two weeks behind with everything,,,sorry about that....
deep loving respect and gratitude..neil
neil, imagine there is no time, just "now". You're never behind, never too early. When you think about it, we only act in the moment of action, things only happen right "now". Clocks and calendars are memory supports. The future is supported by imagination. None of those supports exist in "now".
Nina,
That link of Micks I like a lot. While scathing I think it's right on.
Vivek's article and research is probably right on also. Would have to take the time to check references. There is a problem with it. It boils down to "so what?". I have numerous articles I have archived that are similar, pointing out the deviation from perceived ideology to the actual how things work. I see this dichotomy all the time. What it comes down to is that those with the power and interest can make whatever rules they want and then try and enforce them on the rest of the population. I read stuff from constitutional studies and yes, we can argue that the intent (and in some cases the literal statements in the document) are flat out being violated. Remember the Bush statement? (it's just a damned piece of paper). That is quite literally true. I have delved into the forming of that document. The people involved and the intent are not what we think it is or been taught, it is a flawed document that has been abused from the very beginning. If you are curious why I make a statement like that, email me and I will send some documentation to you.
Archiving links;
If it is something that I really want to keep long term, and considering that the internet may not be as good a source in the future, I cut and paste into a word processor articles, research, etc then archive it on the hard drive. If I really really think it has enough value for the future, I then also archive it on a secondary external hard drive backup. I then start subdividing into groupings; economics, political, medical, philosophy, religion etc. and then will subdivide those categories sometimes, maybe by author or specialized subject. This way if the internet becomes restrictive, I still have access to the opinions, research, commentaries etc.
Every once in a while, I will go into the archive to see if something is so dated or non applicable that it isn't worth keeping, or that my original reason to keep something was misplaced. Try and reduce redundancies too. It's a fairly extensive collection I have. It is similar to saving printed articles in a file cabinet.
Hope this answers your question.
Steps between levels almost finished. Sandy and I did the next level. Getting a feel for what could be provided for Humans while working with the Plants.
Found a delicate fernish looker with the most delicate blue/white flowers. I'm sure more rare flora are in the forest behind me. Still to pot the mini hibiscus.
Howling winds. Still hot around miday.
Permament structures will have to consider cooling. Much solar power to harness. Wind turbines need too much attention and may have to demounted when serious breeze blows.
Far from TV and the anguishes. There are enough stories here to keep me going.
Off for a dip in wild waves.
Peace and Love, turey.
Rasta, how close are you to the sea?
Are you ready to send photos yet? I am curious about these "levels", mini-Hibiscus and the blue-white flowering fern.
It seems that wind could be put to work, what about a combo solar/wind arrangement?
This is exciting!
Murph, you've answered my question. And I very much appreciate your comments on the links. We are in agreement.
And what a neat system for saving material, you are much more organized that the average person. It will serve you well in times to come. Who knows what is going to unfold anyway? At least you are preparing for all eventualities.
Been thinking of how to incorporate mini turbines in a structure Nina. There are big turbines up the Mountains near Munro High School feeding the grid.
My electricity needs are: charge cellie, charge comp, few lights, water pumps when needed later on. Workshop will draw bigger loads when lathes, saws etc working, more load needed; buy more panels. Hot water from solar heaters.
Would like to build a heliostat powering a heat enging powering a generator. Need a good workshop and a focused crew.
Will send pics which you can share around this campfire.
I walk 20 mins to Miss Mary's beach named after my Bredrins mother.
Funny how a respected elder lady becomes a Miss again.

From time to time beforeitsnews has some very interesting tidbits. This particular one shows how the pole migration is rapidly speeding up with maps no less. Let's get her done! :) The shift is doubling each 50 year period and during the last 10 years has shifted half the distance of the last 50 years ALL IN THE SAME DIRECTION!

There were a few items that were on my blog that might be worth keeping around for people to take a look at. Beforeitsnews saved this one.

Well what the heck while I am at it here are a couple more. It seems many rivers and lakes are simply disappearing around the world, Costa rico, Slovenia, a lake near Moscow and the Valley of the kings near Mexico City has a giant crack in it. This article doesn't mention it but Mexico city is about 50 feet below sea level if I remember right. There is a granite rock layer that holds back the Pacific ocean. If the very very large strato-volcano, Mount Popo ever disturbed it, somewhere around 50 million people would not know what hit them. At any rate when we look at some of this, can there be any doubt things are changing rapidly? It is becoming pretty wild out there!

Very cool turey. Its going to be a resilient life serving station.
I always liked that, Miss Babo, Miss Lucy, but the big men (the elders)are called family names by everyone, such as Dad Dad.
Doubling words is Creole, patois, (and there are as many patwahs as there are Creole communities) for emphasis such as water being very hot, sho sho or, very cold, fwet fwet, you know all that.
Ba mi un ba.
Dubs, I'm not forgetting you, just checking out BIN sources and finalizing some downloads which require restarts, over and over AGHHHHHH...
New post in the gallery: Don't marry a technique
The farmer's manual cracks me up, I have read it about three times now.
Looks like an obvious suicide in that San Diego mansion.
I am thinking they might just find some more evidence on O.J. and try him again.
The thing that is really disturbing about farm equipment catalogues is everything advertised uses quickly depleting resources, as if commercially, peak oil isn't happening.
Well, I enjoyed the "Handbook" for the most part.
The history, from a certain perspective, is mostly correct and well described and entertaining too. The author, I notice, has degrees in 'philosophy', obviously Western style.
Personal POV is apparent.
The MSM is mostly "leftist"?
"Everyone defends the welfare state"?
"Teachers don't give a rat's ass about students"?
There are also sketchy 'talking points' regarding 'feminism' and 'diversity' which have become current simplistic terms embraced extensively by those who didn't come of age in the 40s, 50s, and 60s.
I wish people would read "Caliban and the Witch". There is crucial information there about what really went down during the middle ages as the feudal system morphed through the inquisition into the roots of the present day predatory 'capitalism'. The demons scored a critical victory over a short-lived awakening humanity in the Western world, and its been downhill ever since.
>respects<
Thanks bho, it is entertaining, long, but easy reading, he's good, he makes it flow and as far as I can see, he's right. I will read it again keeping your comments in mind.
Caliban and the Witch coming up. Is it this Caliban and the Witch?
Nina,
Exactly, that's the one.
Good reviews too on that page.
